The signature transparent design brings together the camera and Glyph Matrix in one cohesive panel, blending seamlessly into the metal body for a smooth, gapless finish that catches the light beautifully. Silver and Black pay homage to the series’ professional roots, whilst Metallic Pink brings a warmer, fashion-forward side to Nothing’s design identity.

The Phone (4a) Pro raises the bar with a precision-crafted full-metal aluminium body, clean flat surfaces, and a slim 7.95 mm profile — making it the slimmest full-metal Nothing phone to date. The metal finish feels as good as it looks, while also improving cooling through a 5,300 mm² vapour chamber system, and offering impressive resilience with IP65 dust and water resistance, plus submersion protection.

💡 Glyph Matrix

The Phone (4a) Pro raises the bar with a flagship-grade Glyph Matrix composed of 137 mini-LEDs. While using fewer lights than before, it covers a 57% larger area and is 100% brighter at around 3000 nits, delivering sharper, more detailed notifications. Even without a dedicated Glyph Button, popular Glyph Toys (such as Battery, Timer, Digital Clock, Solar Path, and Glyph Mirror) are fully supported, including integration into the Glyph Matrix AOD experience.

I’ll just say that I will always praise Nothing for its consistency on keeping things different. I personally wouldn’t buy this phone, BUT they always speak out to the right people with the right designs and specs. Never was the type to go after the pro models, but still love what was put together to make this phone. Let’s not be too harsh on the first look. It’s different. That’s what it is all about.

The Phone 4a is the logical successor to the (a) series. Very good job to the Nothing team, this is a really good product.

The 4a Pro borrows some of the iPhone (3)'s identity, even though it doesn’t belong to the flagship lineup. I find that very disappointing, being a iPhone (3) user. I understand the desire to harmonize the design between the headphone (1) and the ears (3). However, this does not justify this overly similar and insufficiently “nothing” design.

Personally, I don’t like the look of the Pro model. Sure, it has some new features, but I think it looks more like a CMF in terms of design. I just hope that when the (4) comes out, it will incorporate the best of both models.

I like the design of both 4a and 4a Pro but do think 4a does look better. As a Phone 3 user the camera placement never bothered me but 4a Pro does show having them lined up looks way better, especially with a bigger Glyph Matrix (which I use regularly and love, but must be in the minority according to the YouTube Live comments, 😅).

My biggest issue with the 4a Pro is the blank solid colour space under the plateau. It feels more CMF than Nothing, and I personally think it would look way better with the classic Nothing transparent design language across the whole back of the phone as usual.

I think the logic behind the 4a Pro was to entice Apple users to come over to Nothing whilst still feeling “familiar” to them. Which is understandable.

In my opinion, it’s too bland for Nothing’s uniqueness and the, dare I call it, “plateau”, is very polarizing and seems crowded. I mean, 2/3s of the phone is just a slab with the top ⅓ being Nothing’s design language per say. Bland and boring - like “everyone else”.

4a for me - if it even comes to the US (mentioned on the other thread, not listed for preorder - still showing Phone 3a Series and you have to signup for the 4a Pro).
