The 4a Pro is a fine looking smartphone, so congratulations to all involved in its execution. It seems well specced (I would have preferred a MediaTek processor though - but that’s a subjective choice) and the improvements to the camera look great.

But 128gb as the base storage for a £499 phone in 2026? That’s just wrong. Given the ever increasing sizes of apps along with higher density videos and photos, Nothing should have made the base storage 256gb with a higher priced 512gb option.

This said, this phone with the 12gb of RAM and 256gb of storage at £549 is quite compelling.

I cannot find the 4 online. It isn’t easy or clear if just not in U.S. market. I am assuming not but such a big push marketing wise I’m sad it’s not. I see the pro. Wish all phones were shown online but would clearly say not in X(your) market yet.

Zac I expect some extraordinary design in pro model but this is very ugly design in 40k

Looks like it’s working, the mass seems to prefear more simple and classic design. In fact for this one there no design at all for ⅔ of the phone, just a plain metal back like absolutely every other brands and people seems very very happy. So maybe it’s a good move to sell more things. Making design too sophisticated is maybe not compatible if you want to enlarge your audience. 4a is very nice design wise comparing to 4apro. In the drawing prototype the back was designed and not just plain metal, so there was a step where they ditched everything, maybe for cost saving or maybe to avoid divisive design, just going to the more safety road. I just hope that in the future they don’t completely forget the audience who love deep design like they do with phone 3.

I understand the excitement around the new phone, but I’d like to point out some serious shortcomings,

there’s no 12/512 MB option (at this point, phones with only 128 MB really shouldn’t be a thing anymore)
the ultrawide camera is just 8 MP (really quite poor)
only 3 major OS updates (and the first one will arrive by the end of the year, so only 2 will remain)

in my opinion, it’s a phone that already feels outdated at launch.

Nothing has one of the worst screens. The black to grey falloff is worse than a 8k IPS LCD phone.

I personally like 4a design 4a pro also good but pricing too much higher for given specs I’m using xiaomi 14 civi and it’s 8s gen 3 under 30k with 12+512gb awesome camera,yeah 2x optical zoom but I get usable pics at 8x also battery 4700mah feels low as compared to 4a series but that’s fine and also what other’s camera sensor in 4a series nothing not mentioned
