Good question. Totally fair to raise safety concerns.
Inbox.Zero itself doesn’t store, log, or track any emails. The widget is simply a lightweight client for the mail.tm API, which generates disposable inboxes and returns messages through their service. Everything you see in the widget is fetched directly from mail.tm, and no additional data is collected or stored by the widget.
Because it uses a public disposable email service, it should only be used for temporary or low-risk sign-ups (like testing, newsletters, or services where you don’t want to use your personal email). I’d definitely recommend not using it for sensitive accounts, banking, or anything important.
The goal of the widget is just to make quick throwaway inboxes accessible from the home screen while keeping the experience minimal and transparent.
