I have had my eye on the Nothing ecosystem for some time those glyph notifications are very useful, the clean Nothing OS is a breath of fresh air, and the no frills design which is right to the point. I am very serious about upgrading to a Nothing Phone in the near future (maybe the latest mid range like the 4a series) and a Nothing Tablet would make me a full on Nothing user!
Picture this: A Nothing which at a price point of around Rs 30k (which may be flexible to some degree as per what the market bears) we are looking at great value for money, also they have put together top of the range specs for a budget friendly phone and in addition they have included that smooth cross device experience which in turn makes your day to day use a breeze.
Dream Choice (Best in Class at this price).
Processor: Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 (at the moment it is the best in class for the sub-30k price point smooth as butter for multi tasking, great for gaming and also very efficient with power which in this segment outperforms most Dimensity chips).
Display: 13 inch IPS LCD with 120Hz or 144Hz refresh, high resolution which is of the order of 2.8K for fantastic visual immersion and smooth scroll great for splitting screens, productivity, or breaking out the binge watch on the larger scale.
RAM/Storage: 8GB and up of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS storage (very fast and which also serves you in the future, we also included microSD expansion for when you run out of space).
Battery & Charging: 10,000mAh+ capacity with 45W fast charging all day (or two day) use with quick charges.
Cameras: 2nd generation rear cameras would be great if it fits in the budget (ex. main ultra wide for better varietry in what you scan, take wide shots or docs) I am a big fan of dual which although I may not use every day does add that premium look and feel which for me is worth it. If it raises the price point too much a single solid rear camera will do just fine for everyday use like scanning, taking docs out, or video calls.
Other Goodies: Quad speakers for an immersive sound experience, that slim transparent design is sick at 13” we’re talking about a design that puts the “guts” on full display which is a huge win, IP rated for peace of mind, and a very light build at under 550g.
Ecosystem Features I would love to see more of:.
Features such as instant copy-paste between devices (grab something from your phone and immediately put it into notes or apps on the tablet), smooth file transfer without cables or apps, shared notifications, and WiFi calling which just works everywhere. It is that easy sync text that you copy on one device appears at the ready on the other, dragging files between screens is a natural action, and everything just falls into place without extra set up. Very handy for productivity, quick edits or just jumping between your phone and a larger screen. If Nothing brought that level of polish with their zero bloat approach (perhaps cross device gestures or shared app states? it would be a game changer way more intuitive then jumping between different brand products.
The Pen Idea: The Mark Idea:.
Put in a stylus we like the easy go anywhere type. Make it magnetic for that clean desk look and low latency for seamless writing/drawing/notes. How about calling it the “Glyph Pen” or “Dot Pen” (with that tech forward charging and pairing action). That’d be right in our wheelhouse and practical perfect for brain storming, annotating that PDF, or just some casual sketching out on that 13 inch screen.
Nothing at all, we have a tablet which at ₹29,999 ₹32,999 (price is flexible if the dual cameras or extra large screen are what you’re after) which would put the competition to shame (also with the eco system edge, transparent flex, and pen included as opposed to generic Android tablets). This would make the jump into the Nothing world a total no brainer, also with an upcoming phone release. Who’s excited for this? What specs or features would get you to buy? Let’s make it happen! #NothingTablet
