Hi there everybody,
as a young boardgame publishing company we’ve decided to use Shopify for our e-commerce and Point-of-Sale services (selling games offline at conventions). The software is great and works well on my Nothing phone (1) with single exception, the “Tap to Pay on Android” feature to accept contactless card payments is unavailable. After a short call with Shopify Support, I’ve found out that none of the Nothing phones are supported by Shopify to include this feature.
Through their support I’ve sent a request to Shopify dev team if they could look into it and add support for Nothing phones, but I believe if there would be more people asking to add support for Nothing, that could make the difference and hopefully initiate a change towards broader acceptance of Nothing devices. I’ve already used the suggestion feature to contact Nothing dev team about this, too.
I personally enjoy Nothing phones and wanted to upgrade to another Nothing phone, yet Shopify, as one of the biggest e-commerce platforms, is now a big part of our sales process and missing support for such a key feature as accepting contactless payments with my phone would be a deal-breaker.
Has anybody else had the same experience using Shopify POS on Nothing phones? With popularity of Shopify I can’t imagine I’m the only one having this issue.
I feel like with more voices Shopify could be persuaded into adding support in the foreseeable future, as Nothing becomes more relevant every year.
I know I’m asking a lot but thank you very much for your help and time,
Kind regards,
Filip from Mankind Madness
