Here are some ideas to utilize the glyph lights.
As audio spectrum
Glyph Lights can be used as audio spectrum while the phone is flipped. This will be a good use of glyph lights as it animates the glyph light levels based on the audio or sound level.
As random animation
When the user is using the phone, a random glyph animation can be played which makes the glyph lights more unique. Like the ping pong animation, train animation (starting from one glyph strip to other like a train). It will be more fun and interactive.
During toggle mode
When the sound profile is changed, the glyph lights can be utilised as an indication of the sound profile change.
During back gestures
When the user is navigating back, one of the glyph light reacts to the back gestures which makes the glyphs more interactive.
When the recent apps activity is cleared
When the user cleared all the activities at once, the glyph light can indicate like a subtle animation.
When using essential space
When the user uses the essential space, the glyph lights can be triggered as indication.
When locking the phone
When the user locks the phone, the glyph light (one of the light) can indicate a 800ms animation or blink to indicate the phone is locked.
When the password is wrong
When the user types wrong password in the lockscreen, the glyph light can blink along with the haptic.
These are some of my ideas to make use of glyph lights for older phones and new ones, making it iconic and some for essential usage and others for entertainment purpose.
