Best Charger for Nothing (4a) Pro - Help

I ordered my first ever Nothing phone which is the 4a Pro yesterday at launch and I didn’t know that it doesn’t come with the charging brick. So can anyone tell me whether I should buy the 45W Original charger or is there any good cheaper alternative which would do the work just fine?

akshaii Hey mate, congrats on the (4a) Pro purchase. I’m excited to get hands on with it too.

In terms of charging, the device’s maximum charging speed is 50w and you can purchase any 50w charger which supports PPS / PD3.0. I’ve used chargers from UGreen & Anker which have been very good. The 45w original charger will work fine too, you just won’t get maximum charging speeds but, still charging will be fast!

akshaii I assume you’re from India, correct me if I’m wrong. CMF chargers are over-priced right now, better go with Ambrane, Urbn or the newer player Acer.
Personally, I’ve been using Ambrane RAAP 75W since 2021, works like a charm, I also have a CMF 100W charger since 2024 (paid 3K), use it with my laptop and it also works well.
My recommendation, either go with Acer PowerMax 65W, reputed computer brand but new in GAN chargers, comes with 1-year warranty or Ambrane RAAP G65, more experienced brand in chargers but comes with 6 months warranty. You can also go with their 100W variants as well, if you have the need. They cost under 3K. Also, usually Acer’s products are cheaper on its website.
Avoid Portronics, Noise and Boat.

its probably the best price-performance wise.

Support all the standard Power Delivery (PD 3.0), Quick Charge (QC4+) e Programmable Power Supply (PPS) .

I dont know about the quality of new one (from ikea).

Otherwise i like baseus product on amazon,

there is bigs and littles one from they.

most of them have full compatibility with PD,PSS, etc.

I highly suggest to buy one with pps ( and pd and qc too)

III_I Oh that changes everything now. So I think as an Indian, Acer Powermax 65W will do it because I can get it for ₹1898 on Amazon India and apparently it supports PPS, PD and QC.

III_I @akshaii as per amazon user reviews it does support PPS, although Ambrane didn’t bother to mention it in their spec sheet, the 75W variant which I use also has no mention of PPS but it worked fine with Samsung’s 45W “superfast charging”. But don’t take the risk and go for Acer, they explicitly state PPS, additionally it has 1 year warranty. Be mindful, you need a 5Amp E-marker cable…Nothing most probably provides the same in the box.

akshaii Nothing Phone 3 came with 5A cable, not sure about 4a Pro. Check it once it arrives, it should be 5A. Otherwise, compatible cables aren’t that expensive, Ambrane sells them for Rs. 200-300.

it appears to only support Quick Charge 3.0 and Power Delivery Technology.

(And it doesn’t specify which PD version.)

This is a model similar to the one you recommended (same ports) but it’s much better.

As you can see from the official website, this one has the following specs:

PD (2.0, 3.0), QC (2.0, 3.0), PPS, AFC, and more.

I don’t know if the price is good—I’m not from India and haven’t converted the currency.

Anyway, choose whichever brand you want, but make sure it meets at least the three standards: QC PPS and QC.

I’ve had good experiences with more than one of their products, and I’ve also been satisfied with the Ugreen ones you were recommended.

III_I In India, Ugreen, Baseus & Anker all become expensive because of trade tensions between India-China, hence they lose the value for money factor. I personally own bunch of Ugreen and Baseus stuff like power banks, chargers, headphones, cables, NVME enclosures but I bought all these in Indonesia where they were absolute steal. In India, we are limited with either local brands (80% are white-labeled Chinese) or A & B category non-Chinese brands.

III_I this is overpriced, even with 49% off. It hardly cost Rs. 1500-1700 in SouthEast Asia. Acer is a more logical option.
