Devyn I never heard any updates here and took my question to Reddit. It was told to me that the 5G antennas in NP1 and NP2a are, for lack of a better term, “restrictive” with very limited connectivity with US cell towers. The NP2 however is not like those so if I was to try anything with my Fi service, I’d have the best luck with a NP2.
In doing some deeper research within Google Fi forums and whatnot I found something that listed the NOTHING devices as compatible with the network (based on Fi being on T-Mobile towers primarily) but the fast network switching that you would have on Pixel devices would not function the same. So if I go from an area that is heavily covered by T-Mobile into an area that is not, it would potentially not make a smooth transition to the next towers that may be US Cellular or AT&T in turn requiring Airplane Mode to be turned on then off (or a Device restart) in order to seek out the other provider tower and make the connection…
I’m still on the fence with how soon I’m going to make the jump to a NOTHING device. . .
