Hey everyone,
I’ve been using the Nothing Phone (4a) for the past 3 weeks. Not as my primary device, but enough to understand what it actually offers in real-life usage.
I took it out on photo walks, used it outdoors, and even played some BGMI. Basically tried to use it beyond just specs. Here’s how it felt.
Camera: The main character
Let’s start with what matters the most (at least for me).
The Phone (4a) can capture really good macro shots. The level of detail you get is genuinely impressive for this price segment. You can go close, and it still manages to hold sharpness nicely

Colors are accurate not boosted unnecessarily. Photos feel natural, which is something I always prefer.
But in video missing 60fps video recording is noticeable
Nothing has also added new filters and watermarks this time. And honestly, I liked both.
The filters are actually usable (not just for show), and the watermarks are clean and minimal, a small detail, but well done.
Overall, the camera feels consistent

Performance
I mainly played BGMI on this device. The game runs fine no major issues but I didn’t get the level of smoothness I was expecting. There are some frame drops here and there. Not a deal breaker, but noticeable.
On the positive side, heating is well controlled. Even during longer sessions, it stays manageable

Battery — Quietly Reliable
Battery life is actually really solid.Since this wasn’t my primary device, I sometimes didn’t even need to charge it for two days. For regular users, it should comfortably last a full day (or more, depending on usage).
No complaints here.
Design & Glyph — Looks vs Feel
Design is one of the strongest points of this phone

The white variant looks extremely clean, and the pink color is honestly one of the best-looking options in this segment.
Glyph Interface is still unique and useful in its own way.
But I’ll be honest I do miss the older Glyph light, especially the music sync. That was something I genuinely enjoyed using.
Hopefully, we see it return in future updates.

Final Thoughts
After using the Phone (4a) for 3 weeks, I feel it’s one of the best camera phones under the 30K segment.
It gets the basics right:
• Good and consistent camera
• Strong battery life
• Beautiful design
At the same time:
• Gaming performance could be better
° Missing 60fps video recording is noticeable
This phone is not trying to do everything. It focuses on being a clean, reliable, camera-first device and for many users, that’s exactly what matters.
Thanks for reading 🙂
will back again with another review in future
