After using the device for one year as a daily driver here is my honest long-term experience.
Overall Experience
The phone offers a clean and unique experience β¨ especially in design and UI. However, over time, consistency has become a concern β οΈ.
What Works Well
Design π¨
The transparent design still looks unique even after a year and doesnβt feel outdated.
Display & Sound π
No issues in both areas. Performance has been stable and consistent from the beginning.
Camera πΈ
Camera performance feels the same across updates. Good in proper lighting, average in other conditions. No major improvement or downgrade noticed.
Battery & Heating ππ₯
On Nothing OS 3.2:
Stable battery life β
Good thermal management β
On Nothing OS 4.0:
Increased battery drain β
More noticeable heating during normal usage β
This is the biggest difference I experienced.
Performance & Stability βοΈ
Nothing OS 3.2:
Smooth and stable β
Minimal bugs β
Reliable daily performance β
Nothing OS 4.0:
Slightly faster app opening β‘
Improved animations β¨
But reduced stability and more bugs β
It feels like optimization was reduced in favor of features.
Features π
Nothing OS 3.2 focused more on stability with fewer features.
Nothing OS 4.0 added features like Essential Space and UI improvements.
While the new features are useful, they come with trade-offs βοΈ.
Final Decision β
Due to battery drain, heating, and stability issues, I rolled back to Nothing OS 3.2.
Feedback to Nothing Team π’
Focus more on optimization and stability
Improve battery efficiency and thermal performance
Maintain consistency across updates
Conclusion π§
The phone has strong fundamentals but software optimization will decide the long-term experience.
