The Nothing Phone (4a) has been in my hands for a full month now, and it’s safe to say this isn’t just another mid-range slab. After 30 days of real-world use, the novelty of the transparent back hasn’t worn off, and the performance has remained remarkably consistent.
Here is a deep dive into why this phone feels like a “refined evolution” after a month of daily driving
Camera: A Triple-Threat Performer
The camera system is easily the biggest surprise. Moving away from just “good enough” sensors, Nothing has packed this with a 50MP Samsung GN9 Main sensor and a dedicated 50MP Periscope Telephoto lens.

Build Quality & Look: The “Retro-Transistor” Aesthetic
The build quality feels much denser and more premium than you’d expect for a “4a” series. It features a Gorilla Glass 7i front and a Panda Glass back, giving it a solid, “hefty” feel in the hand.

Display: Silky Smooth & Super Bright
The 6.78-inch 1.5K Flexible AMOLED panel is arguably the best part of the user experience.
Brightness: With a peak brightness of 4500 nits, I’ve had zero issues using this under the harsh afternoon sun.
Refresh Rate: The 120Hz adaptive refresh rate makes scrolling through Nothing OS 4.1 feel incredibly fluid. The 1.5K resolution is the “sweet spot”—it’s noticeably sharper than standard 1080p without destroying the battery life.

Battery: The Full-Day Tank
Nothing equipped the Indian variant with a massive 5,400mAh battery, and it shows.
Endurance: Even with heavy use—camera testing, 5G navigation, and social media—I’m consistently ending the day with 20-25% left.
Charging: The 50W fast charging isn’t the fastest on the market, but it’s reliable. It gets you from 0 to 50% in about 25 minutes, which is plenty for a quick top-up before heading out
Final Verdict after 30 Days
The Nothing Phone (4a) isn’t trying to be a “spec monster” on paper; it’s trying to be a joy to use. The combination of clean software, standout design, and a surprisingly capable telephoto camera makes it one of the most balanced phones I’ve tested this year. If you want a phone that feels like a piece of art but works like a workhorse, this is it.
I am pretty impressed with the camera I love taking photos with it so much
