Hello Nothing Team,
With the release of the Glyph Matrix Developer Kit for Phone 3, developers finally have real, frame-level control over the Glyph interface through an official SDK. This is a huge step forward.
I’d like to request similar developer access for the Glyph Interface on Nothing Phone 2.
Currently, Phone 2 only allows indirect control (notifications, predefined patterns). The hardware itself is clearly capable of more, but the limitation is entirely software-level. Many developers would benefit from:
- An official Glyph SDK for Phone 2
- Programmatic access to individual Glyph zones
- Control over brightness, timing, and animations
- The ability to build custom Glyph-based utilities and visualizations (like Glyph Toys on Phone 3)
Phone 2 still has a strong and active user base. Opening the Glyph API would:
- Extend the device’s lifespan
- Encourage community-driven innovation
- Align Phone 2 with Nothing’s developer-first philosophy
Even a restricted or experimental SDK would be appreciated. Developers understand constraints — we just want official, supported access instead of closed vendor layers.
Thank you for considering this.
