Phone (3) - List of current software bugs

So on the advice of a community member @mupparapu_pramodkumar I decided to make a list of the bugs that exist in the phone 3, that’s what I know… If you have more, feel free to comment, and of course, of course, send official feedback through the settings! That’s the only way it will be addressed

The first bugs I’ll bring up are those related to overheating, poor charging speed, and poor battery optimization that may (and I hope) have been addressed in version 4.1. I’ll update the post accordingly in a few days when that’s certain.

•Phone heating problem even with normal use in air-conditioned rooms, there is no reason for it to get so hot

•Poor battery optimization - hopefully addressed in update 4.1, battery life has become very poor recently (probably due to overheating)

-This issue has been significantly fixed in update 4.1, many thanks to the team❤️

•Terribly slow charging problem - the phone can sometimes charge at 0.3W despite a supporting PD charger and a reasonable temperature

•The system ignores background usage permissions - the system often “kills” apps even though they have unlimited usage permissions

•Problem responding to notifications via the quick settings menu - the system crashes. Thanks to @TarunAbhishek About the informatio

•Low volume problem during calls - the speaker only uses 50% of its capacity, please fix this

•An issue that causes the audio in conversations to be muffled while speaking - the problem worsens when there is background noise, but it also exists in quiet environments. The problem causes the other party in the conversation to hear me muffled/fuzzy, even though when talking in a WhatsApp conversation it is not There is…

•Problem after updating to version 4.1 - There is no way to control the volume, neither through the buttons, nor through the touch, nor through the control center. But the worst thing - the device does not output volume at all, even when a Bluetooth accessory is connected

*This bug has been fixed by the team, thank you very much❤️

Green tint when viewing at low brightness - please fix this, it’s unlikely it’s been like this for so long…

*Update - Partially fixed in update 4.1, although sometimes it causes the screen to take on a brown tint (although it is much better than the green tint that was before)

This appears to happen more frequently in dark lighting conditions when the refresh rate changes from 120 Hz to 60 Hz. At 60 Hz, the screen displays a reddish tint

Display dimming issue when media window is minimized - I wasn’t able to quite capture this in the video, but try it yourself and you’ll see

And that’s it, these are the bugs I’ve heard and experienced… If everyone reports these things to support, they’ll eventually hear us.

lolifnotely🇮🇱 for background activity issue… I’ll suggest you to try changing it from the developer options…

Developer options>standby app>find your app and change the priority to active and see if that works for you , if not then you can try adb commands… there is whitelist command for the same… i can’t find it currently…will update here if i find it

I appreciate the effort man, but i am not sure if raising the issue here will work, because there’s just no acknowledgement from them to the green tint issue, which has been pointed out for so many times here and people have also reported via the system feedback. Not even a post has been merged from the community admins.

Maybe listing all the issues in one thread would do. Commenting just for reach.

ArnimZolaa I also don’t think uploading it here will be particularly helpful for the team. What I do expect to happen is that more people will report feedback on their phones and that’s how it will get there…

And if someone has a popular X account and can upload it there - it would really work wonders (in my opinion)

JP Man i hope you do understand that not everyone can just go into developer options. Some of us are unfortunate to have banking and work related apps that just do not work while developer mode is on.

Forget adb/root/magisk/play integrity patch. These all are under a rock that’s too heavy to lift as of now, because people still have the device under warranty, people do not risk hardware before warranty.

You don’t have to keep that developer options turned on to get it work…🤷🏻 do what i said and turn off developer options…simple… and using adb commands doens’t ruin your warranty… play integrity doesn’t even get touched

I’ve already did that years ago and i also use banking apps and everything works fine👌🏻

Thank you for collecting all the noticeable bugs. Hopefully, everyone facing issues can comment here so the Nothing team can acknowledge them and work on fixes. Can you add below as well.

There are many users are experiencing an issue with audio quality during calls on device.

While speaking, the audio output is not clear, and the problem becomes more noticeable when there is background noise such as a fan. In such situations, the other person is unable to hear my voice clearly, or my voice gets suppressed significantly.

No issues while speaking on WhatsApp calls.

JP People might be new here and learning. Please let the company handle this one. we don’t need restart or basic ADB advice right now.

Not everyone can toggle developer mode or use ADB. Developer mode itself doesn’t automatically void warranty, but changing low-level settings or altering hardware configs can affect hardware behavior and may impact warranty coverage. So please let the company investigate, if we need help later we’ll tag you.

I hope this clears the understanding to why this thread is started.

No hard feelings, but let’s keep the discussion on the actual bugs instead of getting personal. We’re in an international community, and comments like “my child” and “you’re dismissed” aren’t helpful.

I apologise for my sarcastic “ADB god” remark in the previous comment, that was unnecessary and unhelpful.

That said, the original post is about collecting real software issues, overheating, poor battery optimization, slow charging, call audio quality, notification crashes, volume control problems after 4.1, so that the Nothing team can see them in one place and address them properly through OTA updates.

Developer options and ADB commands are useful workarounds for some users, but they are not permanent solutions. Many people (including those with banking apps, corporate profiles, or who are simply not comfortable with technical tweaks) prefer not to enable developer mode, especially while the phone is still under warranty and in-use. For example, apps like HDFC Bank and many other work-related apps stop working properly when developer mode is toggled. Plus, turning off developer mode now requires a reboot.

We are simply asking Nothing to acknowledge and fix these core issues at the system level, just like they partially addressed the green tint for NP2A users. That’s the main purpose of this thread.

If you have specific ADB commands and DEV tweaks that works well for the issues, feel free to share it in a separate helpful thread, many would benefit. But please don’t dismiss users who want the company to handle these bugs properly for everyone.

Let’s keep the focus on getting these issues resolved. Thanks.

I gave a genuine solution to that problem to the person who is suffering from that and not you…

Turning off developer mode doesn’t require reboot… and all banking apps works fine..im using 3 banking apps and everything working fine..and I’ve never even got a warning message 🤷🏻

If any of mods is reading this… you can delete posts related to this argument making this discussion clean again… sorry @lolifnotely🇮🇱 for running your discussion 🙏

I hope this helps more. This is NP3, Android 16, NOS 4.0 (feb ota). Can you post your about section from the settings page, so that we can confirm that the apis are responding differently on different devices ? Which itself would be the largest issue of all issues.

I am planning to roll back to NOS 3.5. But i’ll need sometime to backup my data. In the meantime can someone confirm if the issues werent present in the NOS 3.5 ? I am partially sure about the green tint, but just to confirm other ones, i’ll need help from you guys.

mupparapu_pramodkumar I would say you have a hardware fault my NP3 has never gotten that hot. I use my phone for business mainly and don’t game, it runs cool all the time. I have not noticed any difference between OS 3.5, 4.0 and 4.1.
