Battery Drain & Thermals - Help

Hi Nothing Team and Community,

For the past few days, my Nothing Phone 3a has been experiencing abnormal battery drain and unusual heating.

I understand the weather outside is extremely hot right now (around 42°C), but my phone is getting uncomfortably warm even during basic indoor usage. To help with heat dissipation, I have completely stopped using a phone case. I also removed all the widgets from my home screen to reduce background activity, but the battery drain and heating issues still persist.

I received a new system update just 2 days ago, but this problem actually started before the update and the recent patch hasn’t fixed it.

It really feels like a software optimization issue. I request the Nothing development team to please look into this and improve the thermal management and battery performance in the next OTA update.

Is anyone else facing similar issues recently?

GurbinderSingh Since you’re facing heating+ battery drain issue during idle use. It’s likely related background apps/ Service’s which are working after updating mobile. You can wait for few days to stabilize the mobile.

GurbinderSingh Hey mate, every update from Nothing comes with a warning that you’ll potentially face reduced battery life and overheating temporarily after the update while the system optimises.
