Hey everyone,
I’m experiencing a frustrating background process bug on my Nothing Phone 2a Plus. I just updated to **Nothing OS 4.1 (April 2026 security patch)**, and I noticed this happening right after.
I used the native Camera app to take some photos, and then exited the app as usual. However, when I checked my quick settings later, the “Active apps” manager showed that the Camera had been running continuously in the background for the entire 56 minutes since I last opened it.
It seems the camera process isn’t terminating or releasing properly after you close the app. To clarify a few things:
* It was fully cleared from my recent apps screen.
* **I do not use Face Unlock**, so it shouldn’t be the sensor trying to scan in the background.
I had to manually hit “Stop” from the Active apps menu to finally kill the process. Has anyone else noticed this battery drain issue or the camera failing to release after you use it, specifically on the new 4.1 update
?
Thanks!
