So having received this for my birthday just over a month ago, I ditched my Fitbit Charge 6 and strapped it on. Here’s my likes and dislikes after a month.
The Good
1. The watch is bright, easy to read with a lovely display.
2. it’s comfortable
3. it charges quickly and the app notifies you when it’s 100%
4. AOD is subtle but enough
5. GPS seems good (thought not as accurate as my phone)
6. A great choice of exercises… I mean “Darts” lol - I love it
7. The information after your exercise is fantastic, VO2 max, Load etc. fantastic information.
8. Torch feature is handy.
The Bad
1. Countdown timer - it beeps once and vibrates only once, so you easily miss it
2. Notifications - same, one beep and small vibration you miss it
3. When you’re in a countdown timer/stop watch you can’t come out of it and go to the main face (and it run in the back ground).
4. Alarms - you can only have 5? What? C’mon it’s not a Casio from 1984?
5. Heart monitoring is only every 1min (my Charge 6) was every 5 secs.
6. Resting heart rate is considerably lower than what my Charge 6 reports.
7. Sleep score - not very accurate compared to my Charge 6.
8. The Calculator is rubbish. Try putting 1000 × 4%= “4.000e+01”?
9. When I’m running using “Outdoor Run” - I find that when I turn the watch to my face (wake on wrist) it doesn’t always work, or takes a couple of attempts which you don’t want whilst running.
10. Alternatively I find in normal mode the look at your watch “wake on wrist” feature is to sensitive so even whilst I’m typing on my laptop it’s on and off all day
11. When running / walking outdoor using GPS, there’s no option to use my phone GPS instead of the watch GPS (which would be more accurate and save my watch battery.
12. Nothing X Health stats. I’ve had an issue (I’ve reported it) where my run says I earned 46 active points but my daily active points score didn’t pick it up.
13. Watch Faces. On my Charge 6 some of the faces would show one stat e.g. steps, but when I tapped it would change to the next stat e.g. active mins or calories burned or heart rate. This would have been nice on the watch faces.
14. When I press the button sometimes nothing happens I have to press it again to get to the menu
15. On my NP3 the pedometer widget doesn’t pull the info from my Nothing X app
16. can’t swim in it
17. no NFC.
18. no ECG
I think the potential is great and weirdly despite all the “Bad” I really like it, it’s different and I do like the feel of it - it just needs tweaking more improvements on the Health side (I know Google/Fitbit have years of experience but hey my Charge 6 cost me £99).
I’ll be keeping it on for the foreseeable future - Nothing team keep the updates coming! (what about a Nothing Watch, fitness tracker or band?).
