With the CMF Phone 3 Pro supposedly landing sometime this year (hopefully), it’d be interesting to see CMF experiment with the newly announced Snapdragon 6 Gen 5.
I was invited to the Snapdragon for India event this week as an SD Insider, and honestly, it was a great showcase of how Snapdragon is reaching different parts of the technological sphere, beyond just mobile chipsets.

Anyway, they announced two new chips: the 4 Gen 5 and 6 Gen 5, with the 6-series claiming around 25% GPU gains over the previous generation, while also introducing Wi-Fi 7 and XPAN for the first time in the series.

That’s why a CMF device with a modern Snapdragon platform could make a lot of sense:
Better ISP/image processing
Better long-term efficiency
Improved custom ROM/dev support potential
I left the event with just one question: will the rumored CMF Phone 3 Pro rock an in-house Snapdragon chip or fall back to MediaTek this time?
Would you buy a CMF phone powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5?
