Indeed, unless something terribly wrong happens (like one of those beautiful solar storms), technology will keep growing; the quantum era is just around the corner.
I think that we do accept novelties when in terms of improving. We can be reluctant but as you also mention, we adapt quite easily to the given situations.
My point is that when we are in the train of events, we do not notice how fast things are moving, until we put our heads outside the window and look back.
Regarding your comment, it goes a little beyond the questions I formulated, but I believe that analog has its own space along with digital. For example, if I had to choose, I’d keep a film camera over a DSLR; and books on paper will never disappear under the ebook shadow, even when the predictions said otherwise.
Is there any gadget or application that you would miss the most in this scenario?
