Apple to Nothing: 60-day ecosystem report

I recently completed a full migration from Apple to Nothing in just two months. This is my current daily setup:

Phone (4a)
Watch Pro 3
CMF Headphone Pro
Ear (1) (The original)

The Good:

The transition has been seamless. The audio performance of both the Ear (1) and the Headphone Pro is outstanding—it’s a real head-turner here in Lecce, Italy. People are consistently impressed by the sound and design.

The Feedback:

The only real friction point is the Watch Pro 3. The lack of emoji support in notifications is a significant miss for a daily driver. Seeing blank boxes instead of icons feels like a step back compared to the rest of the experience.

Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with the move. The design language is exactly what the industry needed.

GabrieleBellusci One reason why the Watch 3 Pro doesn’t support emojis in notifications is because:

Nothing has not enabled it for the Watch software.
The Watch 3 Pro software is FreeRTOS, which is an open-source watch OS designed for easy modification by OEMs (Samsung, Nothing) and is designed for cheaper watches. So FreeRTOS doesn’t support emojis in the stock form.

GabrieleBellusci I agree, the watch not supporting emojis is jarring, it’s the most disappointing Nothing product I own.

UpawNothing What bothered me more was the lack of integration between the watch and the phone… Like, there are some basic ecosystem features that don’t even exist!

Oddest thing to me is the workouts logged on the watch never reflects in the health app. 🤣
