I'm concerned about my nothing phone 3

Guys I’ve treated my phone with ultra careful way and today I hear some sound when I shake my phone 😭

Like a screw loose or something

But if I take it to the service centre they said the IP rating will be lost

Any advice??? Anyone else faced this issue??

ViMish that’s simply the OIS camera sensor while it’s not in use

ViMish Are you sure that it is not the optical stabilization of the camera? If you shake the phone does the sound come from the cameras?

Even iPhone doesn’t guarantee the IP rating after a repair.

I’m not sure if an issue like this has ever been reported. You’ll probably have to wait for an NP3 user to reply.

RapidZapper but sir it didn’t used to make the sound before so is it normal? Wouldn’t it perhaps cause some damage to the sensor later?

Maybe you just haven’t noticed it before? This is very common if not standard for all / most phones which have an optical image stabilization system for one of their cameras. The lens essentially float and moves.

If you open the camera app and switch between the main and periscope camera, you can actually hear how the sound gets slightly different when you mildly shake the phone, that’s because the OIS of the selected camera is active and holds the lens in place.

Nope, it’s how it’s supposed to be. It happens on every phone with an OIS sensor

Prior I had never heard that sound and now even when I lift it I hear it so just a little unnerving but let’s see what can be done

DaviBarbero 🇮🇹 It does come from the camera region of the phone, I just hope it doesn’t deteriorate the camera region over time, or cause any artifacts later by affecting the sensor…

It’s OiS camera they often make sound when you shake you don’t have to worry at all about it.

That’s normal with OIS camera.

If your friends or family has any phone with Periscope camera phone. Just take that and shae it to confirm.

Don’t worry buddy. But one thing for sure. NP3 camera has more shake noise than others 😛

I am also using NP3.

Coldpaw okay I thought so too but I just tested out the ois and the video is glitching a lot as I move around I’ll be going to tla service centre once to get it checked cause of the ois is off then the video would be affected a lot

ViMish It is not glitching, you are just simply pushing it beyond the capabilities. The OIS is meant to counter natural movement of your body and also, to some extend, heavy winds which prevents you from keeping your phone stable. When you are shaking your phone like that, you are completely overloading the OIS, it just can’t counter such extreme, rapid movements.

The EIS (electronic image stabilization) kicks in and tries to save the day, but again it can’t perform any miracles and is overwhelmed, leading to the “glitches” you are witnessing.

I don’t see anything wrong with your phone so far.
