I’m facing an issue on my Nothing Phone 2 (Android 14) where Instagram Reels links don’t play when opened from outside the app.
What happens:
When I tap an Instagram Reels link from WhatsApp, Chrome, or anywhere else, the Instagram app opens but the reel doesn’t play — it just shows a blank or stuck screen.
What I’ve already tried:
Cleared Instagram cache
Force stopped and reopened the app
Reset Open by Default / app link preferences for Instagram
Checked “Supported web addresses” in Instagram app settings
Logged out and back in
Uninstalled and reinstalled Instagram
Tried Beta version of Instagram
Switched between WiFi and mobile data
Nothing worked. Reels play fine inside the Instagram app normally — the issue is only when opening via external links.
Has anyone else faced this on Nothing Phone 2? Could this be a Nothing OS deep link handling issue?
