Designing watch faces for CMF came out as a surprise competition as I was in the process of making some app concepts. An exciting one indeed, I instantly opened a new canvas and started developing ideas. During my research, I found that many watch faces are either too crowded, or have information that we hardly even see on a day-to-day basis. Hence I had to come up with something entirely different, simple yet functional and straight to the point. One glance at your watch and you already know what you need to.
My designs cover 3 aspects: Minimalism, Inspiration, and Functionality. Let’s begin.
Nexus: A union of all important things that truly matter. From the time, date, battery, step counter, and weather, all the essentials with a minimal-style Analog clock that fits right on your wrist.
Cassette: A shoutout to our nostalgic friend, the music Cassettes. This face is inspired by the era of Cassettes when music had a special place in our hearts.
World: The world kept getting smaller and smaller as tech evolved. To take advantage of this why not keep up with your favorite cities with a mini world map on your wrist?
Morse: A well-designed watch face that has Morse code embedded. For symbol lovers, this acts as a perfect companion where the dots change with time with the weather and step counter.
Lunar: Inspired by the moon cycle and the glorious sun comes the Lunar watch face. A compliment to the colors of CMF this becomes the go-to dial for your watch.
Retro: Bringing back the nostalgic eras of the 70s this tape recorder theme is a perfect time travel machine.
llusion: Now you See Me!
Pebble: Inspired by the first Smartwatch in the world, the Pebble watch face pays homage to one of my favorite watches back in the day.
Travel: For those on-the-go travelers, weather and compass are the two important essentials. Hence this face fits perfectly for your next holiday.
It was so much fun creating this and I would love to make more! Thank you Nothing for the opportunity.
