After the latest update on my CMF Phone 1, I noticed an issue that many users may also be experiencing without realizing it.
When the phone is connected to a PC or laptop for charging, the CPU clocks stay at their maximum frequencies even when no apps are running in the background. verified this using ADB. This causes the phone to heat up to around 40-41°C while simply charging.
Based on my observations, it seems like there may be a kernel bug where connecting the phone to a PC changes the CPU scheduler from a balanced mode to a performance mode, forcing the CPU to run at full speed unnecessarily.
My phone is not rooted. I have experience with Android tweaking from my previous devices, so Iām familiar with how CPU behavior normally works. This appears to be a genuine issue and could lead to unnecessary battery heating and faster battery degradation over time.
Please investigate and fix this as soon as possible.
Iām not sure whether this behavior is intentional or not. However, when I compare the CMF Phone 1 with newer Nothing devices, the hardware differences are relatively small, yet the newer models are priced much higher. Regardless, forcing the CPU to run at full speed during charging is not ideal, as it generates unnecessary heat and may reduce batter life
