Launched with Android 12, Phone (1) received its final major Android update with Android 15, fulfilling our promise of 3 major Android updates. With this latest release, Phone (1) also receives the July 2026 security patch, completing 4 years of security updates and bringing its software lifecycle to a close. Phone (1) is where Nothing OS began. It introduced our first ideas around a cleaner, more intentional smartphone experience, from the Glyph Interface and dot matrix design language to a more focused take on Android. Over the years, Phone (1) has grown with Nothing OS and helped shape the software experience we continue to build today. While this marks the end of its software lifecycle, the device remains highly usable and an important part of the Nothing story. I purchased Phone 1 for my mother in December 2023. I wanted to buy something unique for her. And she loves it so much. The phone is still like new and the battery is good. The Devcheck app shows only 320 cycles.

I hope it will be usable for another year or two. It is more than capable for daily tasks.

I still remember unboxing my Phone 1 and was like"Wow, now this is something different". I’ve been hooked every since. I’m rocking a Phone 3 and my wife Phone 2. Loving the OS and Essential Space, can’t wait to see what’s next but will never forget my Phone 1.

Still using my phone 1 picked it up from Covent garden from the pop up shop lucky to be one of the first 20 customers so got a goody bag and handed the phone from Carl. Keep thinking of changing the phone 1 but “Nothing” is standing out or grabbing my attention to change plus my phone 1 is still running perfectly.

I used the Nothing Phone (1) when it was first launched, and I was extremely happy the day it was delivered. The aesthetics felt fresh and unique, and I was very excited. It truly felt like I was using a flagship smartphone at a price of ₹35,000.

I hope to experience the same level of excitement with future smartphones from Nothing.

Hey Nothing Community and Team,

Reading the official announcement about the Phone (1) reaching its end of software life made me quite sentimental, and I felt the sudden urge to reply with a massive Thank You.

I received my Phone (1) right at launch day back in 2022, and it has been my daily driver for the last 4 years without a single interruption. Looking back at the official post stating how this phone was the foundation of Nothing OS, I can only nod in agreement. It has been an absolute tank.

Here is my ultimate confession to celebrate this milestone: I have never used a case. Not even for a single day. And yes, it has dropped out of my hands onto the floor more times than I’d like to admit. Yet, looking at it today as it receives its final July 2026 patch, there are barely any signs of wear and tear. The build quality you delivered on day one was just insane.

Thank you, Nothing, for creating not just a beautiful piece of tech, but a truly durable companion that stood the test of time. The software support might be ending, but my Phone (1) is still going strong. You truly nailed it from the very start!

Zac 🛸 I’ve been using the phone 1 since its release till this day, and honestly I wouldn’t change it if I didn’t have to. however though, I’ve been trying to update my android since phone 2 came out and then phone 3, but the prices skyrocketed in Iran and I haven’t been able to grab anything new. prices are so high, I can’t even afford the cmf phones, good riddance.

Si Io uso tuttora Il mio Phone 1 e non lo cambierò fino a che non si esaurirà completamente la batteria che so bene essere un problema il ricambio.

Purtoppo Nothing ha desciso di non implementare più patch sicurezza e aggiornamenti software ma penso che Android 15 ad oggi sia molto perfomante e riesca a girare ottimamente su Phone 1.

Se fossi stato in Nothign avrei aggiornato anche ad Android 16 aggiungendo un pò di “vita” a questo smartphone se non altro perchè essendo il 1° Device si sarebbe dovuto premiare quegli utenti che hanno “rischiato” di non vedere andare avanti il progetto Nothing!!

Cmq mi aggiornerò più avanti con altro smartphone Nothing che rietengo un ottimo compromesso e smartphone nel panorama odierno qualcosa fuori dal coro qualcosa lontano da uno status simbol qualcosa che ci fa essre diversi da tutti gli altri uguali!! Sorrido ripensando alle parole di Steve Jobs ad oggi non hanno relamente senso oramai tutti sono lobotomizzati su Iphone meno male che c’è qualcuno che riesce a dscostarsi!!!

P.S. andate avanti così io vi vedo e vi seguo.

Zac 🛸 I updated my Nothing Phone (1) yesterday to Nothing OS 3.2 (Build: Spacewar-V3.2-260618-1045)(July 2026 security patch), and immediately after the update I started experiencing multiple critical issues. The phone was working perfectly before the update.

Device:

Nothing Phone (1)
Nothing OS 3.2
Build: Spacewar-V3.2-260618-1045

Issues after the update:

Random automatic restarts.
Speaker/audio not working properly.
Unable to make or receive phone calls.
Unable to record videos using the camera.
Phone gets noticeably warm during normal use.
USB charging repeatedly connects and disconnects, and now the phone is not charging at all.
USB OTG devices (such as a pen drive) are not detected.

Troubleshooting already tried:

Booted into Safe Mode (the issues still persist).
Restarted the device multiple times.
Confirmed there is sufficient free storage (88 GB available).

The problems started immediately after installing the update, and no third-party apps appear to be causing them since the same issues occur in Safe Mode.

Has anyone else experienced these issues after updating to this build? If this is a known issue, is there any recommended fix or recovery procedure? I would appreciate guidance from the Nothing team, as the phone is currently unusable.

Zac 🛸 I’ve been using the Nothing Phone (1) since day one, and it’s still going strong. I have no desire to switch because it performs just as well as it did on the first day—smooth as butter.

real_mikhaiel me too got a 4a pro but still have the NP 1 and still lasts a day on a charge with light use, it was a great phone sill like it’s angry flicker when you get a bothersome message

I’ve been using smartphones since 2010. This one (12GB ram -256GB ) has been the best smartphone I ever owned. Nothing did put great effort in hitting the sweat spot of practically but not excessively expensive to own. The battery has been more than plenty since day one. The user experience has been smooth since day one and still is! Build quality is impressive (especially given it was their first phone). Software was also brilliant and they did keep their promise for 3 years OS update and 4 years security patches. Well done Nothing. Brilliant work! The money was well spent! The fun thing is that most people still think of this a new phone

Been rocking a 1 since 2022 and it was a white 128 GB originally before I foolishly went to another brand before buying a brand new black version last year…(still prefer the white!)

Still as smooth as silk,Great photos,a decent size and still looks phenomenal…the latest nothings still miss the extensive rear glyphs in my opinion and I hope they will be reintroduced one day…when I replace the np1 it will be the 4a pro..but not quite yet!
