Hello Nothing Community!
A phone usually feels exciting during the first few days. Everything is new, every feature gets tested, and every photo looks impressive. But the real question is: does that excitement last after weeks of everyday use?
I’ve been using the Nothing Phone (4b) as one of my primary devices for quite some time now, carrying it everywhere from the peaceful mornings around Gurez to the green meadows of Gulmarg and the busy streets during my daily routine. Instead of judging it by specifications on paper, I wanted to judge it by real-life usage.
Here’s my experience.
A Design That Still Feels Different
The smartphone market is full of devices that almost look identical, but the Phone (4b) still manages to grab attention.
The transparent-inspired design doesn’t scream for attention it quietly earns it. Even after weeks of use, people still ask, “Which phone is that?” That says a lot.
What I appreciate most is that it doesn’t just look unique; it also feels comfortable to use every day. The build feels solid, the weight distribution is balanced, and it never feels tiring during long photography sessions or while recording videos outdoors.
As someone who spends a lot of time exploring Kashmir with a camera in hand, that’s something I genuinely value.

The Camera That Encouraged Me to Shoot More
Photography has always been more than just taking pictures for me. I enjoy experimenting with light, colours, and different moods.
The Phone (4b) surprised me because it doesn’t try to make every image look artificial. The colours stay natural, skies don’t become unrealistically blue, and greenery still looks like the Kashmir I see with my own eyes

During sunrise shoots, evening walks, and cloudy mountain weather, I found myself trusting the camera more than I expected. Dynamic range is handled nicely, HDR doesn’t overdo the processing, and daylight images carry plenty of detail.
One feature I kept coming back to was Expert Mode.
Having manual control over shutter speed, ISO, focus, and white balance lets you slow down and actually create photographs instead of simply tapping the shutter button. If you enjoy mobile photography, it’s an experience you’ll appreciate.
Video recording has also been dependable throughout my usage. Stabilization performs well while walking, making it useful for travel videos, Instagram reels, and behind-the-scenes clips.
Low-light photography still has room to improve, especially in scenes with very limited lighting, but considering where this phone sits in terms of pricing, I think it performs respectably.

Software That Stays Out of Your Way
One reason I enjoy using Nothing phones is the software experience.
Nothing OS feels clean without feeling empty.
There aren’t unnecessary apps constantly asking for attention, and everything feels thoughtfully designed. Animations remain smooth, multitasking feels effortless, and even after weeks of usage, I haven’t noticed the phone slowing down.
It feels like software that lets you focus on what you’re doing instead of constantly getting in your way

Performance in Everyday Life
I’m not someone who spends the entire day running benchmark tests.
Instead, my phone is constantly switching between editing photos, browsing social media, messaging, watching videos, recording content, navigation, and occasional gaming.
The Phone (4b) handled all of this comfortably.
App launches are quick, multitasking remains consistent, and I rarely experienced moments where the phone felt stressed.
For most people, that’s far more important than chasing benchmark numbers

Battery That Earned My Trust
Battery life is probably one of the biggest reasons I stopped thinking about charging during the day.
Whether I was travelling through Kashmir, spending hours shooting photos, recording multiple videos, or simply using it as my daily companion, the battery consistently got me through the day.
That peace of mind matters more than having the biggest battery number on paper

Small Things That Make Daily Use Better
Sometimes it’s the little things you notice after weeks rather than on day one.
Clean and distraction-free software.
Consistent performance during daily tasks.
Comfortable design despite long hours of use.
Reliable camera for everyday photography.
Battery life you can confidently depend on.
These aren’t flashy features, but they’re exactly what make a phone enjoyable to live with

My Final Thoughts
After spending a good amount of time with the Nothing Phone (4b), I think its biggest strength is balance.
It isn’t trying to win a specification race. Instead, it focuses on delivering a smooth experience that simply works every single day.
For someone like me who enjoys creating content, capturing the beauty of Kashmir, and relying on a phone throughout busy days that balance is worth far more than flashy marketing

I’d love to see even stronger low-light photography, a more versatile camera system in future devices, and continuous software refinements. But those are improvements rather than complaints.
Overall, the Phone (4b) has been a dependable companion, and that’s probably the best compliment I can give any smartphone.
Thanks for reading!
I’d love to hear about your experience as well.
