Hey Community,
We’re happy to announce that nothing.community is getting some exciting updates! Nothing.community has always been a place built on sharing, building, and collaborating – and we’re so glad you’re a part of it. While we usually focus on Nothing OS updates, this one isn’t for a product. It’s for all of you.
Here’s a quick look at everything new you’ll come across:
🔄 Flip it and reverse it
This one is most noticeable if you’re on desktop. The widgets like Top Posters, Community Stats, and Online Users have switched places with the tag list. This puts the tag list on the left side of the screen for a more natural flow.
👀 Real reactions
Previously, the reaction options were a little limited. We’ve added a few new ones, including a new seasonal reaction spot. Starting with a summer holiday vibe, this slot will rotate throughout the year, so nothing.community always feels current. These new reactions are available starting today right here on this post!
📳 Feel the Community
Android devices will now have the option for haptic feedback. You can enable this in the settings to feel when you tap a post, leave a like, or send a reaction.
🔔 Stay up to date
You’ll now see a banner for your notifications, so you never miss a thing. The banner sits in the top-right corner on desktop and drops down from the top on mobile.
👾 Bug fixes and support
This update brings bug fixes and stability improvements across the site, along with verified compatibility with additional browsers, including beta versions of Chrome.
⚫️ Even more contrast options
In the display settings, you’ll now find additional options for dark mode and high contrast. This won’t change the Nothing theming in the slightest, so use whichever option works best for you!
💬 Reworked Messaging
If you’ve ever used private messaging, you may have felt it wasn’t quite as polished as other messaging platforms. Well, not anymore. The messaging feature has received a full rework with a new look and a more streamlined process.
As we migrate messages to this new platform, the history of these messages will need to be cleared. If you’d like to keep any of these fond one-to-one memories intact, you can export your messages through the following steps.
Account settings -> Controls -> Export Data
Group chat functionality on this new platform won’t be available immediately – this will be added in an upcoming update.
🚨 All of these updates will go live in September. The website will be down for maintenance while this update completes and wont be accessible during that time. This post will be updated with the exact date and time soon.
