Build Essential Apps on your phone

We’ve been working on a new native experience that lets you build, preview and deploy Essential Apps directly on your Nothing phone. Until now, Essential Apps could be deployed and used on your phone, but they had to be created through the web. We’re bringing the entire building experience onto the device, so everything can happen in one place. The app is now available on the Google Play Store, with access rolling out in stages. How access will work We’re starting with users who already have access to the Builder on the web. Over the coming weeks, we’ll gradually give access to more people on the waitlist. The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, but it will only work once access has been enabled for your account. Keep an eye on your inbox. We’ll email you as soon as it’s your turn, with everything you need to get started. You’ll need a Nothing phone to use the app. Over time, we’ll remove the waitlist and open Essential Apps more widely as part of the general release. Users who don’t yet have access may see an error asking them to update AIWidget, the Essential Apps host app. This is expected. Once access has been enabled for your account, we’ll email you with everything you need to get started. An update on Playground We’re temporarily pausing the publishing of apps to Playground. Right now, we’re focusing our efforts on building the best possible creation experience. Once that foundation is ready, we’ll turn our attention back to sharing and discovering community creations. @Zac 🛸 Any update on Essential Apps access for Phone (2)?

Nothing team/community members haven’t provided any clear update about Essential Apps access for Phone (2).

Earlier, we were told that access would be provided “from next week”, but it’s already been a couple of weeks and many Phone (2) users still haven’t received access or any further information.

Now that Nothing OS 5.0 has been announced and Phone (2) isn’t getting OS 5.0, I’m starting to wonder whether Essential Apps access is limited to Phone (3) / Nothing OS 5.0 supported devices.

Can anyone from the Nothing team confirm:

Will Nothing Phone (2) get Essential Apps access?
Is the rollout still happening for Phone (2)?
If yes, what is the expected timeline?
Or is Essential Apps now limited to newer Nothing devices?

It would be good to get a clear answer instead of leaving Phone (2) users waiting without any information.

I have applied for essential apps access since around year now. I have had nothing phone 3 for the same amount of time but nothing just does mot seem to give access. When are they planning of bringing it out? Its annoying at this point. Am I the only one?
