Nothing Ear (3a) unboxing

You might be wondering what a yellow pebble looking earbud is doing in the spotlight. And who’s this dude showing off?? 🤷🏿♂️

Like most already know in the community, It’s the Nothing Ear (3a), the latest one from Nothing targeted to sit in their budget shelf when it comes to audio products.
I think it’s the second generation in the segment, which is weird because it’s got the No. 3.
(Is “2” the new bad luck number now?)
SO.. WHAT HAS THIS BEEN LIKE?

I’ve only had these within the past week and I already had thoughts since day one.
Big shout out to the Community Review Program for getting this one over on around launch date.

So you see.. when I claimed it, I told myself I’d switch it for my daily companion the following day because you’d always find me wearing something. Going outside without headphones makes me feel naked. It’s just my way to build the vibe and distract myself a little from humanity’s unending chatter.
And of course there is good news in that aspect because this has got ANC.
So I took it, allowing my Oppo take the bench for that day.

Fates also aligned with this finish because folks were just out with yellow on the walks. I just had to align the harmony with pictures.

Just in these moments, my caveats started digging in.
Just after one of those pictures, I felt the unforgiving agony of the African midday sun beating up on my skin. In a correlation of consequence, the case slipped, and next thing was each earbud spreading to the North and South of the floor with the case opened.
That’s when the first realization dawned on me.

Apparently the materials here were crafted more with aesthetics in mind than practicality, because if I’m going to be using these outdoors, I would panic when my hands sweat. Not just because of it tripping, but also how I get to wrestle to get the lid open since it’s glass, and glass mixed with moist fingertips is all the loose grip you need to have a hard time.
But yeah, I just dabbed my fingers on my shirt and went ahead further with my day.

I randomized one song from my Liked Library on Spotify, and it was just the best fit to experience “Bass” on this for the first time. Music played, I was building my impression and looking forward to more.

Messing with the Nothing X app brought some stimulation to my Oliver Twist moment because I asked and saw I could do more. In case I didn’t mention, this also happens to be my first audio product from Nothing.
I mean yeah.. I know I’ve been having a blast with some of their smartphones recently, which only began almost a year ago, glad to see the experience building.
In the app, I could max the Bass and just forget everything else existed.
But balance matters, so I went for custom while still adjusting more gains on the Bass side of things.
And the rest of the day became bearable, it lasted me since I had juiced both the buds and case to the max.
I can’t really tell if anyone was staring at me wondering, because it’s not every day you see aesthetic focused transparent looking earphones.

But yeah, let’s continue on the adventure and stick around for the full report soon in the review.
