These are my first clip style buds so I don’t have anything other than Ear (open) to compare to, but I do find Clip Pro more comfortable over a long period of wearing. The buds themselves are lighter than Ear (open), so it’s not really surprising, and the majority of the weight is on the back of your ear instead of the top.
I found Ear (open) ached slightly over time - not enough to stop them being my go-to buds, but it’s one of those things where you don’t know what you’re missing til you try something else. Now I’m reaching for Clip Pro every day instead. Battery life from the buds is great, on par with Ear (open). The case has a slightly smaller battery so requires charging a bit more often than the Ear (open) case does, but the buds last so long it’s not something I’ve worried about.
Sound wise I can’t say I noticed a huge difference in quality, since you’re not getting the full in-ear & ANC experience with the open style. The other benefit of Clip Pro is that you can adjust where they sit on your ear to either be able to hear more of your surroundings or be more immersed - kind of like the black vs orange position on the photo at the top of the thread, but not quite as dramatic as that.
