I’ve honestly reached the point where I’ve lost most of my patience.
I’ve posted enough issue threads in this community, reported problems, explained my experience, and tried to make these issues visible. But when the same problems keep getting overlooked or remain unresolved, it becomes difficult to keep believing that raising them will actually make a difference.
The latest CBO Digest at least mentioned some Phone (3) issues, which is something. But honestly, I don’t have much hope anymore. I’ve reached a point where I’m no longer expecting every issue to be acknowledged, let alone fixed.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that I’ve been using Nothing devices for years. Phone (1), Phone (2), and now Phone (3). I genuinely believed in the company’s vision, design philosophy, and the idea of having a different kind of smartphone experience. I’ve defended the brand, recommended it to others, and always wanted to see Nothing succeed.
But my experience with Phone (3) and the current state of Nothing OS has gradually changed that perspective.
The biggest disappointment isn’t that the phone has bugs. Every phone can have bugs. It’s the feeling that the overall software experience still lacks the level of polish, stability, consistency, and meaningful optimisation that I expect from a device at this point.
There are always interesting ideas being introduced and impressive features being showcased during launches, but sometimes the fundamentals feel like they are being left behind. As a long-term user, I would honestly prefer fewer flashy additions and more attention to stability, refinement, responsiveness, animations, consistency, and fixing the issues that users repeatedly report.
At this point, I can’t sell my Phone (3), and I’m not in a position to simply upgrade to another device. So I’m going to continue using it as it is, deal with the issues, and try to make the best of what I already have.
I’m also trying to separate the phone from the brand in my mind. I still want to enjoy the device I own, even if my confidence in the brand has taken a hit.
I genuinely hope Nothing proves me wrong.
Because I don’t want to stop believing in the brand. I just want the company to give long-term users a reason to believe again.
For now, I’m simply going to use my Phone (3), live with its problems, and try to appreciate what it does well.
But I can’t pretend that the current experience is what I expected when I chose to believe in Nothing’s vision in the first place.
