ChrisJ_Joseph_P1NpRo6vMr I’m not saying Nothing should nerf or disable features on their mid-range phones. That’s not my point at all.
I paid around ₹65k for my Phone (3), so I think it’s completely reasonable to expect the flagship to have some meaningful advantages over the mid-range lineup — especially when it comes to new software and AI features.
For example, even the AI Eraser situation feels backwards to me. A feature like that was introduced on the 4a series before coming to Phone (3). If a flagship is supposed to represent the best of the brand, I’d expect new features to reach the flagship first, or at least launch on both simultaneously.
Other Chinese brands also differentiate their product tiers through certain flagship-exclusive hardware and software capabilities. They don’t necessarily remove the core experience from cheaper phones; they simply give their flagships additional reasons to exist.
So again, I’m not asking Nothing to take anything away from mid-range users. I’m asking for more meaningful differentiation and earlier access to new features for flagship users.
If the mid-range and flagship experience becomes almost identical, then what is the real benefit of paying flagship-level money?
