NP3User Ehh… Sue for using a random cheap vendor to create a custom, size-wise pretty unique panel for them (instead of going with Samsung, LG, or BOE, and with an industry standard 6.3 or 6.7x" size)? Just to put it into perspective, Apple has managed to significantly cut costs on the OLED panels for their iPhone 18 series:

So if those prices were $120-ish before for Apple, they would have been at minimum 5% more expensive for any other OEM, especially for a small name like Nothing where vendors like Samsung and LG wouldn’t be able to sell huge amount of units.

I’m not a lawyer, so I really have no idea if there’s any ground to even think about suing or not. But Nothing’s behavior on the matter says a lot, and that will directly damage their reputation, so…

@grepGander from a customer perspective even if all this is true it doesn’t matter to a customer because all this is done inside a company backend of a company so that doesnt effect customer , they market this product as a flagship and we bought their products expecting a flagship experience and it’s their responsibility to give us that experience, as a customer that’s what matter , instead of that they giving this much headache and giving this much bad experience , so it’s still be sueable , if this isnt fixable they should refund or recall this product, atleast they should provide a screen replacement program … if this isnt fixable they should take the responsibility doing something

NP3User The term “flagship” is quite broad. It is not set in stone to be X, Y, or Z in terms of requirements (although in tech, it definitely should be). It’s more like the best product a company offers. That being said, I completely agree with you, and their marketing aside, it’s really disappointing to see them cut costs on the most important and single most-interacted-with component of a device - a damn screen.

The chip is perfectly fine, and the rest is also definitely fine, but if someone is willing to purchase a company’s flagship phone at an 800€ price point, they almost certainly wouldn’t mind paying 850€ to get everything as it is now, but with a display panel of higher quality and significantly better physical characteristics, so why even try to save there as an OEM? Meh 😐

It’s all their internal decision… it’s doesnt matter to a customer , it’s their responsibility to give us what they marketed , customer shouldn’t bear the consequences of an mistake decision made by the manufacturer.
