Adwekin I’m not sure why some of you are so persistent in ignoring all the OFFICIAL info (given since May 2023 by literally Nothing themselves, a solid month and a half before the Phone (2) was even released so you can’t act like you didn’t know it). It’s even stated right here in the very first post for the upcoming NOS 5.0:

But okay, you want Android 17 (like that changes anything, it’s barely an upgrade at all over Android 16, as it mostly focuses on AI stuff and integration, which the Phone (2) is not capable off anyway) because staying on Android 16 will immediately make your phone unusable, or what? It really won’t. You can still use Android 9.0 perfectly fine to this day, meaning it’s still supported by banks, all major apps, and basically all games. But anyway, you have three solutions to your problem, two of which are completely free:
- Keep using Android 16, the Phone (2) is OFFICIALLY supported until July 2027
- Switch to Android 17 if you really want it so badly - Lineage OS 24 is almost complete and ready (it’s in beta, works great so far)
- Buy a new phone
1) and 2) will cost you 0.00 in any existing currency.
3) will cost you… A lot. And to give you perspective how “a lot” that is, check this:

+50% increase in price for literally IDENTICAL phone as it was in 2025. So… Good luck, I guess.
