No, absolutely not. Plus, the phone is still officially supported for about 11 more months. See, your whole comment or complaint is 100% valid. Those are bugs, poor quality, and other issues that can and should be solved without changing a whole major version for the sake of it because having 17 instead of 16 won’t magically fix existing issues. Then again, upgrading a whole major OS version just for the sake of having a higher number… What is even the point? 🤷‍♂️

Yes, the camera has always been the weak point of the Phone (2), but calling it trash seems exaggerated.

In optimal lighting conditions I’ve taken some beautiful photos, landscapes and even macros.

It could have been better, but it wasn’t. ☹

Sirius_EU Bro we are not talking about some cheap entry level smartphone , for a phone priced at the flagship level , having near flagship camera hardware , what’s the point of taking good pictures only under perfect optimal conditions ? What should i do when I needed to take a good picture of a memorable moment , wait for the night to pass and day to arrive , so I can click ‘that good picture’ ?

Many NP2 users have been staying on NP2 because there isn’t really a true successor to it’s design that’s also a flagship device. NP3 completely missed the mark (imo) and with hardware prices being what they are many just want to ride out abit longer while waiting for the next flagship device. I know they already said 3 years only when the device released but as with other companies things can change if support is shown for it

BPow The NP3 is better than the NP2 in every respect, this is not my opinion it is fact. It was released with five years of software OS support and seven years of security updates which is also better than the level of support offered with the NP2.

UpawNothing which is why I was mentioning it’s design. Whether you like the NP3 or not you have to admit that the way it looks was abit off-putting to allot of nothing fans. And for something like a phone the way it looks plays such a huge part of the experience so I’m not willing to compromise there even if the specs and support are better.

BPow So you are waiting for a new phone with glyph lighting? The glyph matrix and it’s associated control is an evolution of this and is much more useful. I prefer the look of the NP3 and it’s unique design is a real talking point. I love how brave Nothing were to release a phone with this design and fear the reaction of it will only lead to designs which mimic other brands such as the design of the 4a Pro and 4b which are heavily influenced by Apple and boring by comparison. I would argue that the NP3 is the most Nothing, Nothing phone of all and any future flagship will be staid by comparison.

UpawNothing Not so much anything related to the glyphs as I’ve always kinda felt that anything that I could use the glyphs for I could just look at the screen instead. Maybe I’d find the matrix more useful but I’m not too interested. The way the cameras are layed out and the top one even being off centre in its square really irks me aswell as the rest of back just being less interesting than the NP1 and NP2 to me.

The 4a 4a pro and 4b are also abit boring imo but if I’m buying a phone I want it to be a flagship so those were already not options for me.

People with no concept of how dates and calendars work are constantly requesting Nothing to literally volunteer and/or work for free for a full year past what they promised (and definitely fulfilled), because they [users] “deserve it” 🤨 If y’all organise and fund that extra year, I’m sure they will be able to extend that period. So start gathering financial resources, hm?

Edit: Also, check this, the Fairphone 6 from 2025, much cheaper, is supported for 1 year longer (2025-2032) than the 2026 more expensive Fairphone 6+ (2026-2032):

Enough is enough.

Phone (2) owners have their arguments and are digging up every single argument possible. “Oh well this company does this, why can’t Nothing?”, price paid, software problems justifying getting NOS5.0 as compensation, slinging whatever they can to see what sticks to the wall, etc. and whatever. The self-entitlement is nothing less than shocking to me that you bought a device KNOWING what the support cycle was.
Everyone else is on the other side of the fence fueling their arguments. Why waste your time fanning an open flame?

Bottom line is - Phone (2) users - your device is finished getting updates, good bad or indifferent. You can keep being a Nothing customer and upgrade, or you can find another phone manufacturer. END OF STORY. This conversation serves NO PURPOSE, is not going to end in your favor, Nothing has moved on.

I am ASKING the community to stop fighting over a lost cause, and I am asking the responsible community members that are trying to show the Phone (2) users the folly of their arguments to STOP responding to these people. You are just helping make these Phone (2) owners act more and more toxic.

I looked into whether the update policy of the Phone (2) was worse than that of other models from the same period. The standard is based on other flagships released around the same time as the Phone (2) (mid-2023) or earlier (late 2022 to early 2023).

(To assume Nothing followed other companies’ policies or industry standards, devices released after 2 are not considered)

This is a losing argument. I bought 3a pro for INR 32K. and Phone 2 was selling at INR 37.5K. that’s not a flagship price. That’s just INR.5k more than the mid tier phone (~$50)

Even though Phone 3 was launched at INR.80000. within a month itself dropped to INR. 35000. And then it’s currently selling at INR.45000 (after the price hike) during deals. If i didn’t rushed to purchase Phone 3a pro at launch and waited for flagship i could have easily bought the Phone 3 by paying INR.2500 (~$25). How is it paying a flagship price?

Samsung and OnePlus are selling their phones at premium price (INR. 65000). Comparing to that, how is it paying a flagship price? Doesn’t make any sense.

So NP 2 shouldn’t get the NOS 5 update.

Apple, samsung and fairphone gives 6-8 years of OS updates. Samsung does it in their budget series F36/M36, Fairphone 6/6+ and Iphone 11 will be supported till iOS 28 that will be released next year… that’s 8 years.

You can’t build an exceptional brand with an average mindset.

Get a job… Nothing should really start paying these people who defend the brand with their life.

Goes the other way around too, where beggars should really start paying those people at Nothing to work for longer than what was promised and fulfilled, instead of expecting them to work for free.

Or simply lead by your own example - get a job, as you said, but just make sure to work for many more hours than what you’re getting paid for.
