Dear Nothing community,

It’s been only two days that I am using Nothing phone 2a and I have observed the 2 major defects/issue with my phone. First, it’s the glyph light not blinking many times during any notification either from WhatsApp, any social media, it’s lights up ½ times in the whole day that only when I restart the phone. Second, the touch sounds issue that it is not working and even after enabling it, there is no touch sound coming after touching any app, keyboard, calculator also the dial pad tones is very low and there is no option to increase volume of dial pad tones.

If you people are facing the same issue then please revert, also who were facing that and resolved by themselves pls reply and let me fix the issues

    Good day!

I just like to share my experience on my 2a everything that I’ll say here is purely constructive. Here’s what I noticed, the left and right side of the screen have touch issues like there’s a blind side of the screen. It’s very visible when I’m using YouTube, when I minimize the player you I can’t close it right away because the side of the screen can’t read my taps so I need to drag the minimized player at the centre of screen so I can tap the close button. Plus, when I’m watching a video and reading comments at the same time on YouTube the scrolling gets very laggy. In the gaming side I notice that the haptics isn’t very accurate most of the time the phone seems to have a difficulty in reading multiple touches (I tried enabling mistouch prevention but it didn’t help it made things worse) but after all these it’s still a very great progress for a phone in the market it just needs some refinements specially on the haptics side. Looking forward for the very own Nothing apps though. I was curious about the backlight gimmick but after knowing it’s powered mostly by Google apps it just makes us think if we bought the right phone not Pixel.

I just recently got mine for Christmas, and I’m really enjoying it so far. My only gripes are all the Google stuff, it’s really annoying when you don’t want to sign in. All of the Nothing software works amazing, but actual Android stuff like Google Photos, Files, etc. just really make an otherwise amazing OS bogged down. I hope Nothing decides to make a file explorer app like they did with the gallery.

I bought this phone last month. I loved everything about it, from the OS to the design. However, I did notice display related issues that ruined my experience initially. Over time, I’ve gotten used to it, and now it doesn’t bother me as much. Having a minor display issue is still far better than dealing with a green line on the screen. That said, I’m not justifying it, they could have provided a better display at this price point.

The camera, in my experience, is good. HDR could be improved, and lowlight photos could use some work too.

Conclusion: I’m a bit disappointed, but it doesn’t change the fact that this is a very unique and niche phone. If they had used a better display, it could’ve been the best value for money device. It’s still great, but come on nobody wants this kind of display. Team Nothing, don’t stay silent about this! We want answers.

Purchased from Flipkart in India, I’ve been using this phone for a week now. My findings are below:

    1. Display: Texts are blurry, pixelated. They are more grey than they are black. Overall the display is washed out as well. Feels like a really cheap panel is used. But can’t check which as apps don’t mention any details.
    2. Camera: On the surface the photos look fine. But upon zooming in the significant lack of details is clearly visible.
    3. Battery: It’s fine as I’m a very light user. But given the size of the cell and that chip used I believe it could have been better. Again, no complaints considering my personal usage type. Charging is very fast.
    4. Software: Software optimisation is very good. Phone feels fluid enough.
    5. Glyph lighting /dot matrix design: Complete gimmick.
    6. Vibration: Atrocious. Awful. It’s totally imperceptible when in pockets. Take any phone from any other company at any price bracket, and it’ll have better vibration.
    7. Ghost touches? While scrolling through Google feed or similar I see accidental touches happening more often than not. Poor digitizer?
    8. Build: The plastic back is hollow feeling. Both volume and power buttons wobble. Feels like they will not last and fall off.
    9. Call quality/reception: Calls seem fine enough. Need more time to test though. Wrt reception I don’t think it’s any better than my motorola phones of like half the price of the nothing.
    10. After sales service: Today I went to their service centre to have them check the vibration issue. Despite clearly seeing, and understanding the problem, they refused to acknowledge the problem. Made me wait 2 hrs and did a software flash to allegedly fix a hardware problem. Requested them to process a refund through Flipkart, they straight away refused.

I understand that Nothing is a startup and all that. But exactly in how many areas have they cut corners? They cheaped out on the display. The camera produces photos lacking detail. Vibration is utter trash. I mean except the fluid software and fast charging, NOTHING there is going for it. There are phones with better hardware selling for less. I don’t get it. You might ask me why I got the phone at first place, well, after reading some reviews it felt like a good choice. And I remained open minded to give a new company a chance. Alas!

I would return this device in a heartbeat. But Flipkart wouldn’t let me. And Nothing service centre is not helpful and basically a time waste.

Rob ⚡️ using since 4 months and frustrated with 2a here is the reason

1 -black crush issue and green tint in lock screen you can see the diff when compared to another phone

2 - can’t use 5g it’s very unstable on this phone while other 5g phones at my home works flawless

Whenever I call customer care they say 2a display is tuned like this and it’s normal and about 5g they just say it will get fixed in updates.I feel like I have wasted 24k inr in this device
