Dynamic Island in Nothing OS

Can we have Dynamic Island on Nothing 2 ??

I know alot people who might not like this idea, however I recently used an iPhone and to some extent I loved the dynamic island thing, specifically for music and call related issue. I want to know the view of community about this since we are about to get an OS upgrade.

ShreerangamBarai I would prefer it they redesigned the capsule and gave us something of similar function. Otherwise it is blatantly copying Apple, just like Oneplus did in their newest version. I’m against this and i certainly hope nothing is too.

It’s not a good idea to copy an apple feauture, some companies are already did it, and this not the way nothing want to be, we should stay unique.

vovan-v tbh almost every other Android phone has this basic notification settings…so it’s that unique you know… also tech companies always do take inspiration from feature that are useful

As someone who used IOS (iPhone 6s) for 5 years and loved my experience on it, one of the main reasons I got drawn to Nothing phones was the Design similarities (both the phone and the OS). So… I bought the Phone 2a today (exactly 5 hours ago),

one of the first things I would love to do is trying out a third party app Dynamic Island launcher (which I found “dynamicSpot” by searching the web for less than 5 minutes) and see if it’s good enough or not (funny enough, never actually tried the “real” dynamic island.)

let’s not fool ourselves here. I like Nothing. but we all know there is a lil bit of homework-copying going on. so why not just embrace it and add something like dynamic island on Nothing OS? Some people (me) want to have an iOS experience on android phones. give it to us… but in an official way. the Nothing way!

Jay most brands take inspiration from other brands … more over if a feature is good.. it will sell.. also nothing is already taken inspiration in os3.0 for the auto grouped apps

dynamic island is pointless to straight up copy paste. brands do get criticized when copied. wouldn’t it hurt brands image? specially when its new in market.

ShreerangamBarai Taking inspiration and copying are 2 enitirely different things. I know that it is a useful feature but i am skeptical about how the people will react to it. Nothing has been called out many times for trying to copy Apple especially with the design and new changes to the UI like Smart App drawer and lock screen. However, I can’t deny the fact that it will look really cool. I hope nothing can redesign it entirely and make it theirs. Maybe. even more efficient and useful than iOS.

Well i always was a iPhone user and loved the dynamic island. But.. theres always an app for that! I use dynamicspot on my NP1, really fun to use for my music apps.

ManuelSchreuder I will receive my Phone (2a) in 5 days or so and this is the first thing i want to try out/install. can you please tell us more about your experience with DynamicSpot? any flaws? anything to look for or not to do? any settings I should leave off/on?
