We’ve had plenty of conversations with our community about Nothing OS , through feedback, discussions, events and everything in between. But we wanted to take that conversation a little further and bring it into the room with the people actually building the OS.
Last weekend, we brought community members together with Dan Elsworth, Product Director for Software / OS / AI at Nothing at our Bengaluru store for our first Nothing Co-creation session.
It was a day of open conversations, questions, ideas and a lot of going back and forth on how Nothing OS works today and where it could go next. The community came with things they wanted to change, things they wanted to see more of, and plenty of ideas they had been thinking about for a while. The team came ready to listen, discuss and share their side of the story too.

We spent the day going through ideas around Everyday Experiences, Personalisation, Intelligence and Functionality, from making search much more useful, to creating smarter modes that adapt to where you are and what you’re doing. There was also a lot of discussion around the Glyph and how the community could have more ways to create and share their own experiences with it.

AI was another big topic, but the conversation wasn’t really about adding more AI features. The community was more interested in how AI could actually make the phone more useful , understanding what’s on your screen, helping you before you ask, making search more natural, or handling everyday tasks for you. At the same time, there was a strong focus on keeping personal information private and doing more of this processing on the device.
Some of the conversations went into much smaller details too; better camera controls, more control over buttons and gestures, screen-off actions, smarter notifications and more consistent haptics. What made these discussions interesting was the reasoning behind them. Someone would bring up an idea, explain a situation where they had run into a problem, and suddenly the conversation would move in a completely different direction.

@Dan🧑💻 was just as involved in the discussion, talking through what is possible, what gets complicated at the OS level, and some of the limitations that aren’t always visible from the outside. There were plenty of questions, a few technical deep dives, and more than a few moments where one idea led to another.
We came away with a lot of notes, but also a better understanding of what our community really wants from Nothing OS , not just more features, but an OS that feels simpler, more personal and gives people more control over how they use their phones.
This is what we wanted the Co-creation Program to be: getting the people who use our products and the people who build them in the same room, and giving them the time to actually talk.
This was the first one. We’re already looking forward to the next. Thanks to everyone who joined us and shared their feedback, ideas, and experiences with us.
🗣 We’d love to hear from you.
• If you were in the room, what would you have wanted to discuss?
• What would you like to see us do next as part of the Co-creation Program?
