Essential Voice availability on Nothing Phone (3a) vs. Phone (4b)

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to ask about the rollout status of the Essential Voice feature on the Nothing Phone (3a).

I noticed that Essential Voice is already functional on the Phone (4b), but it remains unavailable on the Phone (3a). Looking at the specifications:

Phone (3a) is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3

Phone (4b) runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4

Given that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 features higher processing power and advanced NPU capability for on-device AI operations, hardware limitations shouldn’t be a bottleneck here. I’d like to understand if there is a specific technical reason or ongoing software scheduling/regional optimization preventing its release on the 3a.

If Essential Voice is currently in development for the Phone (3a) and planned for an upcoming Nothing OS update, any insights or timeline details would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, a direct clarification on whether it will ever come to the 3a would help set realistic expectations for the community.

MARDA2112 Given that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 features higher

It’s even worse, they are identical chips, but the 6 G4 is a “faulty” 7s G3, so something that wasn’t good enough to become 7s during the manufacturing process, those “leftovers”, are the 6 G4. They are literally identical chips with some features removed (locked) from the 6 and with lower clocks (they have identical specs and features otherwise):

So all that possibly upcoming “7s G3 is not capable of running it” bs is nothing but bs to lock features away. There is only silence so far…
