I have been experiencing a serious notification delivery issue on my Nothing Phone (3) since the evening of October 3.
Notifications from apps — including WhatsApp and other messaging applications — either do not arrive at all, arrive inconsistently, or are significantly delayed.
Importantly, this is NOT limited to when the phone is locked.
The same problem occurs even when the phone is unlocked and simply sitting idle on the home screen. Messages and app notifications are not delivered normally in the background.
The only notification that appears to work reliably is an incoming phone call — the phone rings normally. However, regular push notifications and messages are frequently not delivered.
I have not changed any notification, battery optimization, background activity, or application settings before this issue started. I have also restarted the phone, but the problem persists.
Since this affects multiple applications, it does not appear to be an issue with WhatsApp or any individual app. It seems more likely to be a system-level issue involving background processes, push notification delivery, FCM, Doze, or battery management.
This is a critical reliability issue for me because I can miss important messages without even knowing they have arrived. Similar aggressive background management was one of the main reasons I previously stopped using Xiaomi devices, so encountering this behavior on my Nothing phone is particularly concerning.
