Nothing OS 5.0 General Release is now rolling out to Phone (3), Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro, Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro. This is the full Nothing OS 5.0 experience, including the redesigned Launcher, Micrographics clock face, refreshed design system, deeper personalisation, smoother performance, improved Essential AI tools and the best of Android 17. Thank you to everyone who joined the Open Beta and shared feedback with us! Your input helped us refine the experience ahead of general release. ⚙️ To update, go to Settings > System > System update. After update to 5.0, my phone battery is draining fast..Before the update, I never saw the battery drained by the end of the day. Now, I’ve had to charge it halfway through the day. Does anyone know the procedure for reverting to 4.1? It’s a 4a phone.

After updating my Nothing Phone 3a to Nothing OS 5.0, I have been experiencing several issues, including excessive battery drain, heating, system bugs and glitches. The speaker sound quality seems to have deteriorated, almost like a low-quality budget device, and the display quality also feels worse than before.

The overall user experience has become disappointing compared to the previous OS version.

Is this really the official stable release of Nothing OS 5.0? If so, how can an official stable update deliver such a poor experience?

Please investigate these issues and release an urgent hotfix update to improve battery life, thermal management, audio quality, display performance and overall system stability.

We expect a polished and reliable software experience from Nothing

Receiver I’m still testing the stable, but beta on my 3a pro used to overheat and lag quite a bit.

I installed the 5.0 udpate upon release and so far it has been a good experience. I have developed an essential app widget to show me the sun and moon hours, RAM Booster was easily re-enabled. Fonts and graphics all look good to me. Because of a graphic clash between the new transparent widgets and the solid icons I have enabled default Google/Android icons and this looks better to me. The device doesn’t feel much faster but seems more than good enough for day to day use. I’m like the separated notifications and quick settings.

After installing Nothing OS 5.0 on my Nothing Phone (3a), I noticed a significant drop in speaker sound quality.

Before the update, the speaker output was clear, loud, and felt more open. But after updating to OS 5.0, the sound feels muffled, as if it’s coming from inside the phone rather than projecting outward.

The overall audio experience feels noticeably worse compared to the previous OS version.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue after updating to Nothing OS 5.0?

Please investigate this issue and improve speaker audio quality through an upcoming hotfix or software update. I hope Nothing will restore the previous sound quality.

Zac 🛸 NOS 5.0 stable version has given new translucent theme and micrographics clock face which looks very detailed.

But I expected the battery life improvement as when my phone was at NOS 4.1 it had very great battery life, after updating it to beta version it was obvious that battery draining issue will be there but, the thing which was not expected was it will be same in the stable update too.

Even now my battery life (SOT) is like 40% less than that was with NOS 4.1

I hope it will be improved ASAP

Zac 🛸 Heya here I am with my review on nothing os 5.0 over all exp and smoothness it is good, and ui is great though bit limited yet it is good but main concern is camera like wait Imma show you the difference in how much it got nerfed below one is 70X before 5.0 update and yeah one more is if u are gaming and u do receive a notif for that split sec phone gets hung and one notif goes from screen it performs

I think Lucent could become one of the most beautiful features of Nothing OS if it’s fully developed and polished. The current implementation feels a little unfinished, especially because the transparent widgets and folders don’t quite match the standard app icons.

I’d love to see translucent, glass-like app icons that complement the overall Lucent aesthetic. I really hope the Nothing team considers taking this concept further in future updates!

One of features given the least afterthought would be the lockscreen clock colors. Choosing a darker color will show even in the AOD. That’s just poor design in my opinion…

Exactly. It’s not even possible to match it with the rest of the widgets unless it’s all white/black, lol.

But then again, even those widgets can’t follow the same curvature and they’re all in different shapes, so… 🙃

Zac 🛸 Nothing OS 5.0 is the wonderful update by far, I am using Nothing 4A pro - my device got so smooth and fast after updating to OS 5.0 Android 17.

Kudos to nothing team they are improving day by day.
