Honestly, bro, don’t expect much from the Nothing team. They don’t seem to listen to what users actually want. Instead, they keep following their own direction, pushing the idea of a minimal OS without adding enough genuinely useful features.
I’ve emailed the team and also contacted them on X, but there seems to be no commitment to implementing the features users have been requesting. There are so many features that could make Nothing OS more practical and user-friendly. If the team wants to maintain a minimal experience, they could simply add optional switches in Settings to enable or disable these advanced features. That way, users could choose how they want to use their devices.
Unfortunately, it feels like user feedback is being ignored.
1. Display Quality
I’m using the Nothing Phone (3) 16GB/512GB, which cost me around ₹56,000, and I’m experiencing a green tint issue on the display.
My previous phone was the Realme 11 Pro+, which cost around ₹30,000. Surprisingly, its display experience was excellent, with more useful software features. Even after spending significantly more on the Nothing Phone (3), I feel like I’m missing features that were already available on my previous device.
2. Quick Settings and Music Controls
The Quick Settings panel has inconsistent spacing, and the music controls feel poorly implemented and practically useless in their current form.
Many users reported these problems during the Nothing OS 5.0 beta, but they still haven’t been fixed in the stable release. It feels like the team simply expects users to accept these issues and eventually get used to them rather than actually addressing the feedback.
3. Sidebar Feature
Users have been requesting a proper sidebar feature since 2024, but Nothing still hasn’t introduced it.
Instead, we get a mostly stock Android experience with a custom launcher, app icons, and a black-themed interface. Beyond these basic visual changes, there aren’t enough meaningful features to justify the premium experience.
4. Camera Quality
The Nothing Phone (3) camera experience is another disappointment.
Colours don’t remain consistent across different zoom levels, and photos often become noticeably darker after the camera finishes processing them. Colour accuracy and post-processing need serious improvement.
My Overall Experience
I purchased the Nothing Phone (3) on 15 August 2026, and honestly, I regret my decision almost every day. At this price, I could have purchased a Realme 16 Pro+ and potentially received a more feature-rich experience.
Nothing needs to understand that minimal design doesn’t mean minimal functionality. Users are paying premium prices and expect good hardware, reliable software, useful features, and timely bug fixes.
At this point, my experience with Nothing Phone and Nothing OS has been extremely disappointing. Sometimes, it feels like phones from 2017–2018 offered more useful features and better stability than what we’re getting today.
Nothing needs to start listening to its users instead of constantly telling them how they should use their phones.
