  • Introducing: The Community Edition Project

Anil love it! Love how ur using the lights to convey the “emotions” of the AI and how it brings the lights to life!

BenSimms Thank you so much. Your appreciation means a lot to me

Just uploaded my proposal on the Nothing phone 2a Community Edition Project.
I hope that can be admitted.
Thinking to use a kind of x-ray layer on the back panel of the phone, in a way that would enhance the internal components, combined with a polycarbonate frame on the same base colour and side buttons in a red/brown/orange colour like the square component near the cameras.
We normally have the white and black colour variants on the Nothing phones, so I was thinking on a brown shade colour that would match the light variant, and also a black/blue/grey shade colour that would match the darker variant.
Enjoy and best of luck for all member entries

FrankSummer ayo, hurry up the competition is almost over. You’re teasing me by dropping this message and not uploading anything, lol

What time do we have until to enter?

Yeah! After watching all those incredible designs in the gallery I realised maybe I should have done some more designing 😅 because there’s a really though competition😄

    Many designs are literally amazing.

Hope that we will definitely get a incredible product at the end.

    All the best to all👍

Greetings everyone, I am Juju Anselum from India, introducing the Nothing Mobile 2a community edition, designed to raise awareness about endangered species and organizations that protect them.

    Theme: Preserving the Endangered Species.

These designs replicate the Boisduval’s Butterfly and the Yellow-crested Cockatoo with their accent colors and textures. They will also create awareness about these endangered species among people.

      Hi!

I couldn’t see whether my upload worked, so I hope one way or another someone sees my effort on the community project!

It was a lot of fun and I hope you like it!

Introducing the Nothing phone (2a) Ocean Edition: a beacon of innovation, sustainability, and transparency in the tech industry. Crafted from recycled materials sourced from the depths of the sea, including plastics derived from seashells, this device embodies nothing’s commitment to pushing boundaries and redefining what’s possible in the tech industry.

Immerse yourself in the depths of the ocean with the deep blue hues, evoking the beauty, mystery, and importance of our planet’s marine ecosystems. These dark blue colors complement the phone’s elegant design, lending a timeless appeal that resonates with users.

But this phone isn’t just about aesthetics — it’s about making a difference. By repurposing materials that would otherwise contribute to ocean pollution, we’re taking a stand for sustainability and environmental stewardship. With every use, you’re not just using a phone; you’re supporting a movement towards a cleaner, healthier planet.

Join us in our mission to protect our oceans and embrace a more sustainable future. With the Ocean edition phone, you’re not just making a statement; you’re making waves of change.

      Materials:

Adding sustainable materials into the phone casing and accents, ensuring that they not only maintain the device’s sleek and transparent aesthetic but also add depth and character to its overall appearance.

First, let’s dive into the unique texture and character of the plastic derived from waste seashells. With its spotted and slightly rough surface, this material tells a story of transformation—a once-discarded shell finding new life in the form of a phone casing. When you run your fingers across the buttons, you can truly feel the essence of recycled materials, reminding you of the ocean’s resilience and the importance of repurposing waste.

But it’s not just about texture; it’s also about capturing the fluidity and movement of the ocean itself. That’s where the wavy recycled plastic comes into play. Mimicking the gentle ebb and flow of ocean waves, which works well with the lower part of the phone, which features a flowing pattern that mimics the graceful movement of water. Inspired by the gentle currents and swirling eddies found beneath the ocean’s surface, this design element brings a sense of fluidity and harmony to the aesthetic. As light dances across its surface, it creates an ever-changing interplay of shadows and reflections, evoking the timeless beauty of the sea.

Every detail tells a story of our deep connection to the sea. Take a closer look at the area around the lenses, where a subtle yet striking design element captures the essence of water in motion.

Here, a delicate droplet appears to have just fallen into a tranquil pool, creating a ripple effect that emanates outward. This artistic interpretation not only adds a touch of whimsy to the phone’s design but also serves as a poignant reminder of the beauty and fragility of our oceans.

These intricate details harmonize perfectly with the recycled materials used in the phone’s construction, they transport you to the tranquil depths of the sea, where innovation and nature converge in perfect harmony.

      Colors:

Dark blue colors convey elegance and sophistication, elevating the phone’s aesthetic to new heights. Contrast and depth are seamlessly integrated into the phone’s design, enhancing its visual impact and ensuring it stands out amidst a sea of tech products. But it’s not just about appearances—dark blue hues resonate on an emotional level, evoking feelings of tranquility, calmness, introspection, and contemplation. These colors also symbolize the depth and mystery of the ocean’s depths, adding layers of meaning to the narrative and inviting users to explore its features and discover the stories behind its design.
