diol155 I have an update with my situation, apparently Peugot Touch Screen does not support Android 12 and “above” which is so stupid they do not support latest phones also they do not support iPhone 15 at the moment, whoever is encountering this issue with their 2017 and later Peugeots, “ They do not support Android 13,14 and iPhone 15”. I am in a mail chain with support and suggested using older protocols/instructions for phone when it connects to the Peugot cars. Hope they can do whatever Peugeot can not. Please check your car systems compatiblity with latest models or operating systems. I can understand Android 14 not being supported at the moment but 13? It is almost 2 years old now. So frustrating i also like to thank the Nothing support team for trying their best.

They have already answered me saying that the vehicle is at fault and that I should contact the dealership.
I don’t understand, if Android Auto has worked with all the phones I’ve had.
I have installed the my peugeot application on my mobile and it tells me that I have a screen update, then later I will update it to see if it solves it, but I don’t think that is the reason.

diol155 No it does not i have updated it, as stated in Peugots website they do not support Android 12 and above operating system.

diol155 if I’m understanding this correctly then yeah.. if other Android devices (with the same Android version) are currently working on the same car/display then all roads (pun intended) lead to Nothing Phone 2a issue.

O_uzcanG_l_en even Google themselves mention they support Android Auto on Android version 8.0 and above (source). You would think the car manufacturer (Peugeot in this case) would follow suite as the phone is doing all the work anyways, you’re just connecting it to the screen. So yeah that’s pretty poor/sucks. 🙁

I just tested the Android Auto with calling, google maps and youtube music and everything seems to work fine for me. Not silk smooth but works okay and everything responds to first press. Call is working okay however i only tested in one way when I started a call from the Android Auto screen. Call was stable and call quality was okay. Renault Mégane 2019. I just bought the car and did not update the os on it so it is possibly the stock or several years old version.

Thanks for the update there. Hmm odd as my wife is using Android Auto on the Nothing Phone 1 quite happily with our Peugeot 2008e infotainment system from 21. I’ve just checked her Android version and it’s also Android 14 so hopefully there’s a fix in there somewhere. They may claim to not officially support it (which to be honest is a rather dumb decision from Peugeot) but it most definitely does work, or at least can be made to work with a little software engineering.

Update: I drive a 2018 Suzuki Swift and it doesn’t work. I just tested it with a 2022 Swift and Android Auto worked instantly. The 2022 has a different head unit to the 2018. It must be the head unit software which is causing the issue.

s0ner maybe, but other Android phones such as Pixel’s (Android 14) & Galaxy’s work fine on the same older Suzuki head unit (I have a 2019 Swift Sport). So seems to be a compatibility issue with the 2a, which hopefully can be fixed via a software update on the phone.

freshj1ve I updated the head unit but it didn’t fix the issue. Nothing Support have sent my ticket to their Technical Team so we’ll have to see what they come back with.

s0ner nice, fingers crossed. I’m waiting on the technical also. Hopefully some good news soon 🤞🏼

I’ve had an update from Nothing support which may suggest they’re aware of the fault and are working on it.

                Hi everyone,

I’ve been facing a frustrating issue with my setup and wonder if anyone has encountered something similar or has any solutions. My problem is with making phone calls while connected wirelessly to Android Auto, as well as using a plain Bluetooth handsfree connection in my Škoda Octavia IV. Specifically, my microphone isn’t picking up any sound during phone calls. This issue is new to me; everything worked fine with my previous phone.

To add, all necessary permissions have been granted for the apps in question. Interestingly, WhatsApp calls go through perfectly fine, and the microphone works without any issues when I’m using my Galaxy Watch. This leads me to believe the issue is isolated to the Google Phone app. I’ve gone as far as to disable the app, remove its data, and set up the permissions from scratch, but to no avail.

It’s quite puzzling that this problem only affects phone calls made through the Google Phone app, while other call services on my phone operate normally. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

                  Hello, I have a Peugeot 2008.

I connect de USB cable and the anfdroid auto starts very slowly like you have 2000 ping. you touch the screen nothing happen just pass 2 min or more its very frustrating .

I use all the time android auto and for me its too bad nont have android auto in my car so please make it happen 😃

                  THK YOU

Aar_oCoelho I have a 508sw and don’t recognize this issue. This might be something specific to the version of your unit in the car.

                    Hi Pavlus,

I’m having exactly the same problem as you on a 2020/21 Skoda.

I’ve tried everything you have to try and rectify and no luck. I subsequently trawled the net to look for a solution and came across your post.

Similar to you; my wife’s Pixel 4 works without issue, as does my old Huawei P30. More confusingly, the 2(a) works on a 2014 Skoda via normal Bluetooth (no android auto present in that car) and works normally via other Bluetooth devices also (earbuds and Bluetooth speaker). I have no idea why this would happen - it’s like the presence of android auto disables the mic on the 2(a) when connected.

Did you manage to find a solution to this dead mic call issue?

I’m submitting a feedback ticket for it also.

Exact same issue for me!!! Škoda Octavia IV 2024.

Also have you migrated from Android via transfer phone utility? My was Samsung Galaxy A52s

ONLY when mic is working is different app than the phone calls e.g. WhatsApp/Signal
