I can say I came from an S22U and the 3a genuinely feels faster in everyday use and basically never gets hot, the S22U used to literally burn my hands with extended chrome use…
What nothing has been able to get out of the Dimensity 7200 is pretty insane.
Did take a look at the released kernel docs and it looks like they’re running an almost 2 year old GPU driver, so updating that might be an easy win - apparently the Pixel 8 shipped with the same driver and had a significant performance boost after they updated to the latest driver from Arm.
