Otu I believe its best to have choices, such as turning on and off option in settings. To me current state is convenient, and I have no fear of device being stolen (and if its is, burn the SIM, disassociate phone from Google account on computer, buy new one and restore last backup).
So I am with you, as I understand the risk, plus having visibility on screen left as option (not as default) as its very convenient in daily use.

    main purpose of power saver is to save battery , which means it will turn on dark mode….
    its basically same as asking for phone ring even if phone is on DND..

    Nothing please! Consider this on the upcoming nothing os 3.0.

    a. I was really into nothing’s dotted fonts even before I bought a nothing phone. And watching it going away in upcoming update , that i don’t want. Maybe it would be quiet good id they place an option to chose old font over the new one.

    b. About that new lock screen pin keypad design. I just like the old one.

    c. I was done using third party app to set a widget for countdown for a date. Glad to see the official widget for that.

    d. See I really never used auto brightness and I prefer to change it manually but I have to swipe down twice before i can adjust brightness…..please consider placing the Brightness slider only one swipe away.

    e. About volume level. If we can make it so that it gets even lower that it already is would be great. (I really like to watch movies at night without earphones)

    f. There are a lot of other things i would like to see on the os 3.0 but i guess i should first complete my assignment that i need to submit tomorrow morning.

    Many have tried to bundle good app pack that would replace or complement Google default services and apps, but no one has succeeded so far.

    Key is everyone tried to reinvent the wheel their own way.

    I would love to see Nothing have great apps that would distinguish it from any other phone/OS and I believe key is using in what is good on market, and making a deal with app makers to do special edition that would fully support NothingOS feats and Glymph and be optimized for 4 plus models.
    Also, bugfixing and feedback and feature development would remain on companies and Nothing could give them like 1$ per phone or some other stimulative share to do long term development and support.
    No ads, no slowdowns, no multi function of apps, focus on what it needs to do, simplicity, streamlining, no data collection, no spyware etc.

    could integrate OS update, help, user feedback and bug reporting, easy file transfer, typing Notes or SMS from computer keyboard, advanced settings etc. and would be useful to have for Win 10/11, MacOS and Linux.

    Please consider such things for bright future, since I believe it gives edge in user conviniece.
    Moder Android settings and functions have become complex and app could simplify and center.

    I really want the Nothing team to make their own music player. I’ve owned a nothing Phone 2a for a few months now and I’m extremely happy. I’m glad to hear that there will be a gallery, but a music player is also needed. If they decide to make one, it will be the best music player, in terms of design for sure.

    Please make it easier in next update. In One UI one can share a Contact from dialing history, but here we have to go to Contacts from where it can be done. Make things easy as promised.

    I travel a lot…and I Think many Nothing users too.

    Would Request Nothing to please introduce Roaming plan with esim embedded in Nothing OS 3.0 for data usage while travelling without requirement to look for some local physical sim.

    This would be a great help for Nothing users who are travelling around the world.

    I’d like to suggest new functions to be added in the upcoming OS update:

    • Pro mode in camera allowing for 50 MP photo capture in RAW and JPEG
    • Pro mode for video recording
    • Quick settings widget for brightness control - size 2 X 1, enables sliding to change

    These ideas might have been brought up already, but recently there were quite a lot of situations where I felt like something was missing.

    Well I will simplify it.

    1. Preserve Original Design: Instead of replacing or drastically changing icons, widgets, and design elements with each OS update, give users the option to keep the original design (e.g., the original Nothing OS icons).

    2. Introduce New Designs as Optional Add-ons: New icon and widget designs should be introduced as additional options, not mandatory replacements. Users could choose between the classic look or newer designs.

    3. Customization Freedom: Allow users to mix and match new and old elements, giving them greater control over the appearance of their OS.

    4. Long-term Consistency: This ensures that even after several years of updates, users can retain the familiar look they love while still benefiting from new features and enhancements.

    5. Design Library: Over time, build a library of various design sets (icons, widgets, themes) that users can apply according to their preferences.

    This approach would give users more personalization without forcing changes they may not want!
