I was a OnePlus user and one of my favourite features was the mute toogle, NothingPhone doesnāt have a hardware switch, but supposedly in the new update you can map the powerButton double tap to enable muting. The problem is that āmuteā for the Nothing phone, means muting the ringtone and the notification sounds. But media volume will remain where it is. Thatās intentional I guess, but not practical. 99% of the times i am enabling mute is when I am in a meeting, or in the cinema in general in places that I want my phone to make no sound at all! So I would expect the mute functionality to actually mute all sounds. Itās extremely embarrassing to play a loud sounds from an instagram reel in a room that is supposed to be quiet (like a meeting room). Please make the mute to be an absolute mute. And like OnePlus, if you are in mute mode and you press the volume up button, the phone getās out of mute mode and the media volume is adjusted normally by the volume buttons.
Also please consider in NothingPhone 3 to add a hardware mute slider! Itās extremely useful to silence the phone in the unfortunate event that it tarts ringing in a place that it shouldnāt. Sliding a hardware button is extremely faster that actually unlocking the phone and either dismissing the call or activating mute by tapping buttons. With a slider you can silcnce it even blindly by putting your hand quickly ion you pocket and sliding the slider, not even need to bring the phone out of the pocket! Extremely convenient and important as a feature!
