Hi everyone, I am currently using the Nothing Phone (2a). I have tried to connect my phone with Windows 11 using the Phone Link app. Like Samsung, Honor, and other phones, you are able to control apps using Phone Link. However, with the Nothing Phone, we are unable to control apps using Phone Link. Is there any option available for users to control apps using Phone Link?
App Control via Phone Link App on Nothing Phone (2a) with Windows 11
You can use kde connect. It is much better than any software + opensource + available on most of the os.
i feel that too, phone link has a very good UI, and the interface is just more professional than KDE connect, even though its functionality is far for comparison. any techie here knows how to mod phone link to also support the experience for nothing phones? (nothing phone (2))
Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing with my Nothing Phone (2). It’s a bit frustrating that Phone Link doesn’t support app control for Nothing devices yet. It seems like Microsoft prioritizes partnerships with certain brands, like Samsung. Hopefully, Nothing can work with them in the future to add this feature.
In the meantime, I’ve been exploring alternatives like Scrcpy for app control—it’s not as seamless but works well with a little setup. Also, for anyone who’s into trying different apps, I came across Scarlet (an alternative iOS app store) the other day, which got me thinking about how these third-party solutions can fill gaps where official ones fall short. If there’s something like Scarlet for Android that could enhance Phone Link’s capabilities, it’d be a game-changer!"
