Hey there.
I had a huge struggle connecting my Laptop with my Nothing Phone 2a (Nothing OS 3.0 Beta) 5GHz WiFi Hotspot. I tried to reinstall the drivers for my WiFi Card (Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377). Nothing helped.
I was not able to find the Hotspot. Other Laptops and Phones found it just fine.
I then found out that when i connect to another WiFi with both, my Laptop and my Phone, while my Phone has the Hotspot enabled, I can find it, connect to it and turn off the Phones WiFi again.
I guess it’s somehow syncing channels used or something like that. I just find it super weird that only my laptop has struggle with the Nothing Phone’s 5GHz Hotspot which seems to use Channel 36.
Why there is no option to select your own Channel for the Hotspot?
I now have to find some WiFi i can connect to with both devices, before i can use the Hotspot at all, which is annoying. I know the Problem most likely is my Laptop not being able to detect it without described method, but i also think that letting the user select a proper channel for his hotspot, would prevent such struggle.
Greetings from Vienna
PS: My internal was a “Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377” and now I use a USB WiFi dongle. With that ist works fine.
