do the marks really disappear??? i’ve had my new phone for a week now and i notice that in the status bar, elements like time, battery, signal, etc. are marked… i recently switched from a samsung galaxy s9 with the same problem, but the difference is that i used this last one FOR YEARS, not just A WEEK! i love the nothing brand, their designs are fantastic, but if this is a common problem, unfortunately i will ask for a refund, since that was one of the main reasons for changing devices. frankly i’m a little disappointed because i know that a design this great i won’t find in another brand, but it’s something that i personally can’t pass up
Screen burn-in - Phone (2a)
Derren Hi Derren, I am facing the screen burnout issue for a while. Have attached the screenshot for reference and the service center guys not accepting this as an issue. Nothing customer care team keep saying need to visit service center to fix this issue. Is there way to address this issue and get it fixed.
sugansk 2a or 2a Plus??? How does it work for you today?
I just want to clarify that what I’m experiencing isn’t about PWM dimming or uneven brightness—it’s burn-in. Static elements like app icons in the status bar keep leaving marks on the display, and I’ve only been using the phone for 6 days.
I’ve been using OLED phones for years, including an iPhone, and this issue is disappointingly unique to the Nothing Phone (2a). Even with cheaper devices like the Redmi Note 13, I’ve never had this problem. When I looked into it further, I found that this seems to be a widespread issue in the community, with numerous reports on Reddit and other forums.
Burn-in within days isn’t normal for OLED screens, and it’s already impacting my experience. Anyone else experiencing this?
I really want to continue supporting the brand, but this has been a letdown.
You have made a big Mistake.
Njx30 are you on os3 ?
Phone (1) user here. Some staticity but lasts a few seconds only .

Njx30 same exact issue here. When i swipe it leaves marks/ shadows. As an example when i swipe down to open the quick settings menu, the icons for wifi / bluethooth / vibration exc moves down as expected but in their original positions i get a duplicate, like a shadow of them and it looks reaaaally bad. Very bad quality it seems or bad quality control. It’s funny because in a video, the CEO was saying how much it is important to give a good first impression because otherwise the customer will not trust you anymore. These weren’t the exact same words cause i saw this time ago, but this was the concept, you can check it for yourself, and then we get this….. wow, nice. I really wanted to give nothing a try and was very happy to do it, but other than the OS which i really like how it looks and works, the rest is very bad quality, bad display colors very washed out, bad camera, impossible to take a realistic picture. Very sorry to say this. Hope they improve in this areas and then the device will be 100% worth but now it’s just disappointing and below the standard imo.
Njx30 hey mate. If you (& anyone else) is suffering from burn-in I’d suggest contacting Nothing Support https://nothing.tech/pages/contact-support as the team there are best placed to support you & guide you re; next steps.
hrry please, just stop suggesting that, all we got from the support was “ visit service center” and Guess what they tell you at center ? : “its normal behavior for oled” “can change screen for you” processed to change screen, issue still there who would’ve thought right?
When your gonna learn? Its already too late for the brand to accept they messed up with 2A display choice, you guys already lost the first impression game.. and your just making it worse for yourselves by staying silent about 2A display issues..
I got exact same issue, and guess what didn’t found any solution. It’s just some unknown guys comes and replies it’s not a problem it’s just a QLED thing.
Njx30 I am using my nothing phone 2a about a year. Whenever there is pitch black in the screen for example in videos or image, there is pixelation of black color and its visible that there is something wrong with the screen. Is there anyone else experiencing this??

- hrry hmm that’s done me no good at all. Your Instagram account is sidestepping the issue to be just a technical nature of oled and not addressing the issue which gives it away - you guys messed up making sure the quality of the oled lives up to the hype. For days it’s given me excitement picking the 2a over my 14 pro because it’s refreshing. Now that spark is gone, nothing amounts to nothing really when it comes to commitment. I’m giving it to you, you guys really rock the promotion. But it’s all that. No phone is perfect, but the dismal support and lack thereof paints your promotion so bad to me now. My friends are asking what phone I’m using, I say Nothing. Literally ignore this, worst display ever on a phone. Got Nothing in it but excuses, don’t settle for less.
