Hey guys! My name is Roman and I’m a designer from a small country named Moldova.
I have a personal philosophy when it comes to my life and my designs:
I think that there is too little color and too much beige and grey in modern design. I want to stand out, so when I choose my wardrobe, the walls of my apartment or create my designs, I will always prefer it be color. Not always the case when you design commercial products though, most consumers still look for the black version 😄.
So that’s why when I found out that Nothing is looking for new designs, I decided I wanted to make something colorful to bring to the conversation.
What brings us together as fans of the Nothing brand is a desire to stand out of a crowd. The Nothing community is the group that want their products to make a statement.
My idea is Diversity - a design where all the parts want to show off, but still come together to form a whole.
There is a concept in fashion called color block, where instead of printing a pattern on a plain cloth, usually you obtain the pattern by sewing pieces of cloth of different colors to obtain a pattern.
I’ve had an idea for a long time to try and obtain radically different products by changing the colors of every component part. Nothing used the different shades of white or dark grey to differentiate the parts behind the glass of the Phone 2(a), so I brought it to a logical colorful conclusion and maximized the variety of color in the design.
I cut it pretty close with the submission 😅 and there is always more that can be done, like playing around with the bump patterns, or maybe making even the glass colored.
I hope you like it!

I tried to keep a balance between the hot and cold tones, and hope that the result is pretty gender neutral, what do you think? Would you buy this phone?
